CONCERNING THE SPIRITUAL

"Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant…" (1 Corinthians 12:1)

Christianity is not a despondent civilization. Rather, it is a government of the Kingdom of God with codes, authorizations, and clearance levels. In other words, it's not just about moral living and practicing the tenets of the Bible. There is a deeper life; an alternate reality, similar to the one you carry on in your daily life as a human being. The goings on in this alternate reality are very similar to the goings on here on earth, only, in that reality, there are only two countries, the kingdoms of Light and darkness.

The Apostle writes concerning this alternate version of reality; ignorance is not proper. Now, I know the Bible translators put in the word, gifts, in 1 Corinthians 12:1 which is why it is italicized but the original rendering says, "Now concerning the spiritual, brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant…"

Paul goes on to elaborate in 1 Corinthians 12:2 by saying, "You know that you were Gentiles, carried away to these dumb idols, however you were led." And this is very pictorial. The man or woman who is not a Christian, in that alternate reality, is carried to dumb idols by default.

Idols are things that fill the void that God ought to fill in a person's life. In other words, there is no vacuum in the alternate reality we have described. Every person in this world, whether they know it or not, is a spiritual functionary. If you are not a functionary for God, you are by default, a functionary for idols or false gods and, by extension, the devil. Right now, I sense an addiction is breaking off from someone as you read this devotional. The spiritual root of that addiction is cut by the double-edged sword of God's word.

Jesus taught about this alternate reality, which I would now refer to as the spirit realm, and why we should have our consciousness exercised to take hold of things from the Master whenever we gather to pray, fellowship, or study the Bible. In Matthew 18:20, Jesus said, "…where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them."

Notice! In this realm, when we gather, it's brothers and sisters meeting to pray, break bread, or study the scriptures, but in the alternate reality, it's a conclave with the King of the Universe. This is why you should never miss an opportunity to gather with other believers. 

The Spirit of God wills that concerning the spiritual, you no longer be ignorant because acting ignorantly about the spiritual has cost the Body of Christ too much. Understand that by attending a meeting of believers, the enemy loses too much, which is why he would try to use sleep, social media, or any whatsoever to keep you from gathering together with other believers. Don't budge.

Faith-Filled Confession 

I come into alignment with God Almighty concerning the spiritual. I know that the decisions I make in my daily life have implications in the alternate reality called the spiritual. Therefore, I study to act in a way that gives the Kingdom of God advantages over the enemy and his cohorts. I am an asset to God's agenda and never a liability in Jesus' name, Amen. 

Prayer Point

Act 10:38 says, "How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him." 

Isaiah 33:24 (NIV) says, "No one living in Zion will say," I am ill…" 

Intercede fervidly for those who are sick, that they receive the good news of divine healing and health in Christ; God's grace and mercy extended to them for quick recovery and perfection, as the healing power of Christ is manifested in their bodies. Pray specially for Christians experiencing various health challenges; that their faith be strengthened and the reality of divine health, which we have in Christ, would become their consciousness and vital experience.
