AFFIRM THE WORD

11/13/2023

“And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that, if we ask any thing according to His will, he heareth us: And if we know that He hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him” (1 John 5:14-15).

As a child of God, you have been anointed to receive answers to your prayers. Your prayers were not designed to go unanswered. In John 15:7, Jesus conveyed a profound truth, stating, “If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.” What does this mean? Did Jesus truly imply that you can request anything you desire? Consider 1 John 5:14-15, which asserts, “And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that, if we ask any thing according to His will, he heareth us: And if we know that He hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him." When Jesus spoke of abiding in Him and having His words abide in you, the Greek word used for "abide" was "meno." It signifies a state where you merge with the Word, a condition in which you are transformed into the very likeness of the Word. It's a place where your thoughts are completely saturated with the Word. At this juncture, every utterance from your lips carries the essence of divinity. This is when Isaiah 55:11 comes to life. Praise God!

When the Apostle John stated, "And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us; and if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him," he was referring to God's will, which is expressed through His Word. The Word stands as God's revealed will for His children. Understanding this concept sheds light on why some individuals may not see their prayers answered. It raises the question: Are there prayers that God neither hears nor answers? The unequivocal answer is yes. If God heard a prayer, He would have responded. The absence of a response implies that God did not hear that particular prayer.

Daniel serves as an exemplary figure who comprehended the essence of praying in alignment with God's will. In Daniel 9:1-3, during the first year of Darius's reign over the Babylonian kingdom, Daniel, having studied the Scriptures and discerned the word of the Lord conveyed through Jeremiah the prophet, recognized that the desolation of Jerusalem was foretold to last seventy years. Fueled by this understanding of God's will, Daniel turned to the Lord and fervently entreated Him through prayer and petition. In essence, Daniel prayed in accordance with the revealed Word of God. He was aware that the prescribed duration of desolation was seventy years, and he engaged in prayer to ensure that this divine plan would not be delayed. On Daniel's watch, the miracle wouldn't endure any longer than what was decreed. When you grasp God's will, don't merely stop at understanding it—carry it to the realm of prayer and actively work to bring to fruition what He has declared. Hallelujah!

To engage in praying the Word of God involves both acknowledgment and declaration. For instance, a prayer rooted in the Word might be expressed like this: "Father, I express gratitude for the glorious life You have bestowed upon me, where everything is perfected by Your Spirit. My journey is not marked by fluctuations; rather, I radiate Your beauty and grace—the embodiment of divine essence. I triumph over the forces of hell, Satan, and death. Being born again, I understand my identity. I possess a life that is beautiful and full of excitement. Therefore, I reject any inclination to complain about my circumstances." Hallelujah! Such a prayer has the potential to activate the miraculous within you, as you affirm your identity in Christ Jesus, particularly in the face of adverse situations. Praise God!

So get praying and rejoice because you have whatever you have said. Glory!
