“But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.” —1 John 1:7
Jesus declared in John 8:12, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows Me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” This means that it is impossible for darkness to gain expression in the life of the one who follows Christ. And to follow Christ is to follow His Word; to follow His Word is to walk in the light of all that He represents.
For example, 1 John 3:8 says, “For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.” Jesus fulfilled this completely. He eternally paralyzed Satan and all his works—leaving no room for recovery. Praise God! Therefore, to walk in the light of this truth, your words, actions, attitudes, and mannerisms must reflect the reality that Satan is defeated and his works are ineffective against you.
When you pray, pray with this understanding. When challenges arise, confront them with this mindset. Stand your ground and advance knowing you cannot walk in darkness because Jesus said so: “Whoever follows Me will never walk in darkness…” Defeat becomes foreign when your mind is conditioned by victory.
Hold this mirror of your victory before you morning, noon, and night. Hold it when it’s easy and hold it when it’s challenged. People may misunderstand you or call it bluff—hold it still. The way you hold it is by maintaining a consistent confession of faith.
Confess boldly that Christ has made you king over every demon and every circumstance. 1 John 4:4 declares, “Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.”
Notice it doesn’t say you will overcome someday. No! A thousand times no! You have already overcome—you did so the moment you said yes to Jesus. Your salvation came as a complete package: you are saved, healed, strengthened, and eternally victorious.
Now God says, Walk in it. Display it. Let the world see what has been done for you. Praise God!
Faith-Filled Confession:
I choose to see my life from Christ’s perspective. He calls me blessed; therefore, I am blessed. He calls me healed; therefore, I am healed. He calls me wise; therefore, I walk in wisdom. He calls me righteous; therefore, I am the righteousness of God in Christ. Today is a glorious day for me. I am victorious, strengthened, and full of joy. Hallelujah!
