YOUR JOB AS A PRIEST

02/20/2024

"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour" (1 Peter 5:8).

The enemy has two methods for accomplishing his mission. His mission, by the way, is to send as many human beings as possible to hell. The first method for accomplishing his mission is to tempt. The Bible amply identifies him as the tempter (see Matthew 4:3 and 1 Thessalonians 3:5). However, this method relies on the unwholesome desires of the targeted individual. James 1:13-15 says, "Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone. But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death." Notice that the Bible doesn't refute the fact that there is a tempter, it just says that the tempter is not God. And because you have no control over what the tempter will throw at you in the form of temptation, the Word focuses on your desires because that is where you have some control.

Now, bear in mind that time plays a very pivotal role for Satan to gain full control over the target individual. In the case of temptation, evil desires must be strong enough to become sin and sin must then mature into death. This process takes some time and is, therefore, abortable by prayer.

Aborting the enemy's methods for sending many to hell is exactly what Isaiah refers to in Isaiah 58:12 when it says, "Those from among you Shall build the old waste places; You shall raise up the foundations of many generations; And you shall be called the Repairer of the Breach, The Restorer of Streets to Dwell In."

A breach refers to a gap and in this context, a breach is a gap in time between a spiritual reality and its manifestation. And this is why intercession is a must for you. There are desires that get aborted at the initial level of being desires and some, when they have matured to sin. Some sins that grow into deathly states can still be dealt with by intercession for the fact that intercession is the highest form of the performance of your God-ordained priesthood. When the enemy hauls accusations at certain people to bring about divine judgment, intercession is how you assuage the righteous judgment of God with His mercy. Ezekiel 44:24 says, "In a dispute they [the priests] shall take their stand to judge; they shall judge it according to My ordinances. They shall also keep My laws and My statutes in all My appointed feasts, and sanctify My Sabbaths."

Hear me, there is a reason why, for example, Louisiana is the murder capital of the United States, and Alabama has the highest incidence of incest. These are not matters of demography or economics as the public policy experts suggest. The required priesthood to stop these social ills is not in place and the job of the Church is to ensure that the necessary priesthood is put in place to repair the breach.

This is why you must be perceptive as to how the LORD is requiring you to intercede in many situations and contexts. The moment you get a prompt to pray for others, pray and do not hesitate. Your job as a priest is so crucial in this hour. Don't toy with it.

God bless you.
