YOU MUST RESPOND WITH JOY

7/12/2026

"My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. But let perseverance have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing." — James 1:2–4

At first glance, James' instruction seems almost impossible. How can anyone rejoice in the middle of trials, disappointments, or unanswered questions?

Notice that James did not say, "Feel joyful."He said, "Count it all joy." In other words, joy is a decision before it is an emotion. It is a deliberate choice to trust God's character, even when you do not understand His process.

The enemy wants you afraid, discourage and in unbelief when faced with trials. But God wants those same trials to produce maturity, endurance, and unwavering faith. The difference is not in the trial—it is in your response.

Every challenge you face is an opportunity to discover the faithfulness of God in a deeper way. What looks like a setback may actually be God's setup for promotion. What feels like a delay may be His preparation for greater responsibility. God never wastes your trials when it is surrendered to Him.

Joseph counted it joy in prison because he knew God had not forgotten him. Paul and Silas sang praises at midnight before the prison doors opened. Jesus endured the cross "for the joy set before Him" because He saw the victory beyond the suffering.

Child of God, don't allow today's circumstances to define tomorrow's testimony. What you are walking through is temporary, but what God is producing in you is eternal.

Choose joy today—not because everything is perfect, but because God is faithful. Rejoice because He is working behind the scenes. Praise Him because His Words are still true. Thank Him because what the enemy meant for evil, God is turning around for your good.

So, count it all joy. Your breakthrough is closer than you think.

Faith-Filled Confession

I choose joy because my confidence is in the Lord. Every trial is working for my good and producing greater faith, strength, and maturity in me. I refuse fear, discouragement, and unbelief. My God is faithful, and His promises never fail. I declare that every challenge is becoming a testimony, every delay is preparing me for promotion, and every obstacle is giving way to victory. I count it all joy because I know that God is working all things together for my good. In Jesus' name, Amen.
