YOU HAVE THE COMPETENCE OF GOD

04/20/2023

"It is not that we are competent in ourselves to consider anything as coming from ourselves, but our competence is from God." (2 Corinthians 3:5 HCSB)

The born-again child of God, is legitimately one spirit, one soul and one body with God. He or she is one spirit with God because 1 Corinthians 6:17 says, "But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him." He is one soul with Lord because 1 Corinthians 2:16 says, "For “who has known the mind of the LORD that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ." And we know from scripture that the mind and the soul may be interchangeably used to describe the compartment from where a person understands things. The born-again believer is one body because Ephesians 5:30 says, "...we are members of His body, of His flesh and of His bones."

Now, while the oneness with God in our spirit is both legal and vital, the oneness with God in our souls and bodies is only legal. It is only as we present our souls and bodies to the Word of God that the vitality of oneness with God in these aspects is established. Here's why. When you got born again, God made a downpayment for your spirit first and so your spirit is the exact nature of God. 2 Corinthians 1:21-22 says, "Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God, who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee." So the Spirit in your heart is God.

However, your soul, the compartment that houses your emotions, memories and intellect (the means by which you understand things) still needs to be presented to the Word repeatedly until its salvation is achieved. Writing to Saints, James mandates, "Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls" (James 1:21). So don't ever conflate the idea that the saints are incapable of filthy behaviour and wickedness, they are. However, as the word of God is grafted into our minds by study, meditation and prayer over a period of time, the soul becomes saved or one with God's soul vitally. This is the same with your body. You submit your body to the word of God. Romans 6:13 says, "...do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God." Only then, will your body be vitally God's body on earth.

That said, being one with God comes with a potentiality that you can explore, which is that you have access to God's competence. What this means is that there is no question, situation or circumstance that you will encounter that can render you incompetent to answer. Your competence is from God. Jesus affirms this in John 16:13: "However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come"

I don't know what has confounded you to this point, it ends today because you have the competence of God. Now that you know this, dig deep into your Spirit, where God is, and pull out a divine response. If it is a vagabond family member that has confounded you up to this time, there's divine competence to handle that situation. If it is a financial situation that has rocked your world for a while, there is divine competence to turn it around. If it is reaching people in your environment for Jesus that has been scaring you out of your wits, there is divine competence to address it.

Refuse to be dogged by any matter from henceforth because there is competence in you to respond.

Have a blessed day!

Faith-Filled Confession

I am competent with the competence of God. Nothing moves me because I always have the answers. The Holy Spirit in me is a force for God to enfold and dematerialize situations, issues and circumstances that do not line up with the Word of God, particularly as it relates to me and my divine commission. In Jesus' name. Hallelujah!
