YOU ARE THE SOLUTION TO THAT DARKNESS

6/12/2025

"The Light shines on in the darkness, and the darkness did not understand it or overpower it or appropriate it or absorb it [and is unreceptive to it].” — John 1:5 (AMP)

Someone once said, “It’s better to turn on the light than to curse the darkness.” I couldn’t agree more.

Not long ago, I heard about a Christian couple whose home had become a battleground. Each one had complaints against the other, pointing fingers in frustration. But as I’ve often said, what we see in the physical is only a reflection of what’s happening spiritually. And where spiritual darkness reigns, it’s simply because the light has not been turned on.

Blaming others for what is fundamentally a spiritual issue is misguided. Hear me clearly: your spouse is not the problem. Your boss isn’t the problem. That family member, that colleague—they are not the source of your frustration. The only reason darkness is present is because you are not shining as the light God has empowered you to be.

As a child of God, if you live by the Word, you will see success in your marriage, business, ministry, and every area of life—not by struggle, but by grace, because of what Jesus has already accomplished.

If the Word says love—just love. Don’t justify bitterness or withhold respect because of someone else’s shortcomings. If you're looking for reasons not to walk in love, you'll always find plenty. But God calls you higher. He calls you to represent Heaven wherever He has placed you.

In the book of Genesis, God faced a void, formless, dark world—but He didn’t walk away. He spoke light into it. And the light overpowered the darkness. I believe God is speaking to someone today: don’t quit that job just because it’s become difficult. Stand in faith and declare like God did, “Let there be light!”—and there will be light.

You may be saying, “Pastor, I’ve done everything I know to do. What else is left? ”My answer to you is simple: Let Christ live in you and through you. Don't give the world a reason to question where your God is. Shine!

You are the light of the world—so no darkness can overpower you. Walk in that truth. Speak that truth. And by the Holy Ghost, I declare—you will see the glory of God in your marriage, ministry, business, and every area of your life.

Faith-Filled Confession:

I walk in the Light as Christ is in the Light; therefore, I have no fellowship with darkness. The Word, which is light, shines in my home, my business, my ministry, and in all that concerns me. I declare victory in every area, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

God bless you!

Prayer Points

Psalm 18:29“For by thee I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped over a wall.”

1    Pray and declare that the brethren are marvelously helped by God—in ministry, in business, in purpose, and in destiny.

Jude 1:24–25“Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling…”

2. Pray for those facing temptation or spiritual attack—that Satan’s influence is broken.

3. Declare that their faith will not fail; that they are strengthened by the Spirit in the inner man, and that the Word sown in them prevails in all things.

4. Proclaim boldness and endurance—that they hold fast to their calling, walk in the Word regardless of circumstance, and finish their course with joy, bringing glory to the Father.
