YOU ARE NOT FORGOTTEN

09/11/2024

"Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus."

Philippians 1:6

Your success in life is defined by God’s will for your life and not by what He is doing in some else’s life. For example, God’s will for John the Baptist was to herald the coming of the Lord; he was not anointed to do what Jesus was anointed to do.  His assignment was simple; he was simply to prepare the way for the Lord. It was not John’s responsibility to see to it that Jesus fulfilled His assignment. At one time, John was tempted to think that he was also anointed to manage Jesus’ assignment. He sent his disciples to Jesus to ask Him, "Are You the one who is to come, or should we expect someone else?” And I love Jesus’ response. Jesus said, “Go back and report to John what you hear and see: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is proclaimed to the poor. Blessed is anyone who does not stumble on account of me.” Jesus was more or less saying to John, “Do not allow what God is doing in Me and through Me define what He has done through you.”

Child of God, do not become bitter at those that God has placed around you. Not your parents, spouse, or anyone else is responsible for where you are or why things are the way that they are. Remember, that those whom you admire did not emerge overnight. They too have a story that you may not know. So, enjoy what God is doing in your life. Don’t get frustrated because you think you are not moving fast enough. Instead, celebrate your little steps. Celebrate God’s miracles in your life, no matter how small they may appear. Zachariah 4:10 says “Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin, to see the plumb line in Zerubbabel’s hand.” Maybe the plumb line in your own hand is your family or that job that pays you $15 per hour. Each of us has a plumb line in our hands; however, when you compare what is in your hand with what’s in someone else’s hand, you will in no time run out of steam.

Your life is not a mistake. You are not where you are today by mistake. God has a way of working all things together for your good. However, you must not take matters into your own hands by doing things that are morally reprehensible because you want to get ahead or look good in the eyes of others. Do not seek to be revered by men. All that counts is you fulfilling God’s assignment for your life. So, celebrate your victories no matter how little they are and celebrate the victories of others for it is the same God at work in you that is at work in them.

God bless you!

Faith Filled Words:

I am content with my assignment. I refuse to compare myself with others. I receive the grace to run the race set before me with passion and diligence. By the help of the Holy Spirit, I am a success at what God has called me to do, in Jesus name, Amen.Prayer Direction
