"By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another."— John 13:35
Love is the greatest evidence that Christ lives in us. It is the distinguishing characteristic of every genuine follower of Jesus. Anyone can love those who love them in return, but it takes the nature of God to love the unlovable, forgive those who have wronged us, and extend grace to those who least deserve it.
Our love is not meant to be selective or conditional. It is to reflect the very heart of the Father. Jesus loved His disciples despite their weaknesses. He loved Peter after his denial. He loved Thomas through his doubts. He even washed the feet of Judas, knowing he would betray Him.
That is the kind of love we have been called to demonstrate.
In a world filled with division, hatred, and offense, believers are called to be ambassadors of reconciliation. Our words should heal, our actions should encourage, and our lives should point people to Christ.
Loving others does not mean approving of sin or compromising the truth. Jesus was full of grace and truth. He spoke the truth boldly, yet He always did so with compassion and a desire to restore.
Child of God, ask yourself today: Can people see Jesus by the way I love others? When people encounter you, do they experience kindness, patience, forgiveness, humility, and compassion?
The greatest sermon you may ever preach is not from a platform but through a life that reflects the love of Christ. When you walk in love, you reveal the heart of Jesus to a world desperately searching for hope.
Let God use you today.
Faith-Filled Confession
The love of God has been poured into my heart by the Holy Spirit. I choose to walk in love, forgive freely, serve humbly, and speak words that build others up. My life reflects the character of Jesus, and through my love, others are drawn to Him. I refuse bitterness, offense, and unforgiveness. I am a true disciple of Christ, and His love shines through me every day. In Jesus' mighty name, Amen.
