YOU ARE MORE BLESSED IN GIVING

“In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus Himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive’” (Acts 20:35).
Many of God’s people are eager to receive, but far fewer are excited to give. We all love receiving—no one becomes upset when a blessing comes their way. Yet, in so many churches today, the mindset of receiving dominates, while the consciousness of giving is often secondary. But according to Scripture, giving precedes receiving. A person may spend their whole life expecting a harvest, but if no seed has been sown, their expectation will be in vain.
God established this principle from the beginning. Genesis 8:22 declares, “While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest… shall not cease.” Paul reinforces this in Galatians 6:7: “Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant.” If no financial seed is planted, there will be no financial harvest—no matter how long someone prays. Harvest only comes where seed has first been sown.
Scripture goes even further. “God loves… a cheerful giver [whose heart is in his giving]” (2 Corinthians 9:7 AMPC). Notice—it does not say God prizes the receiver, but the giver. The one whose heart delights in giving is the one God is unwilling to abandon. Then verse 8 reveals the reward:
“And God is able to make all grace—every favor and earthly blessing—come to you in abundance…”
The result? The giver becomes self-sufficient, lacking nothing, and furnished in abundance for every good work. While the non-giver may face lack, the giver continually enjoys supernatural provision.
A giver is never disadvantaged. Jesus Himself said, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Giving is the believer’s lifestyle; it is the channel through which the blessing shows up visibly in your life. The more you give, the more resources Heaven entrusts to you. Generosity multiplies.
So today, challenge yourself to be intentional about giving. Look for a need and meet it. Lift someone up on your job. Be a blessing to a stranger. Ask yourself:
“What can I give today that will make God smile?”
Because the little acts of kindness often carry the greatest weight. Since you carry the nature of your heavenly Father, let His nature of generosity be seen in you today.
God Bless You!
Faith-Filled Confession
I am a channel of God’s love and grace to everyone around me. I do not hoard or hold back the blessings of God. As God has blessed me, I joyfully bless others. I give freely, and I reap abundantly.
