YOU ARE IN THE PLACE OF GOD

“Do not be afraid, for am I in the place of God? But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.”

—Genesis 50:19–20

Many of God’s people give up too quickly, and I get it. The delay can be punishing. The betrayal can be painful. The lonely feeling can be unbearable. I get it.

But all of these things pale in comparison to the glory of His Word spoken over your life.  Just because you cannot relate to that Word right now does not mean you are forgotten, nor does it mean God’s Word is not trustworthy.

Here is a quick question: Why should we change our confession of God’s Word because of contrary outward circumstances?

Is it because we do not believe that God is TOO BIG TO FAIL?

Truth be told, it is infinitely impossible for God to fail.

Joseph understood this.

With everything that happened to him, that brother did not change his confession. He said to his siblings, “Do not be afraid, for am I in the place of God?”

Notice what Joseph said: “I am in the place of God.”

What is the place of God?

The place of God is the unchanging Word, will, and purposes of God. And this place of God is revealed in our daily confession.

Joseph did not say, “I am in the place of God” because he had become the prime minister of Egypt. He knew he was in the place of God even when it didn’t look like it.

He was in the place of God when his brothers betrayed him.

He was in the place of God when he was thrown into the pit.

He was in the place of God when he was sold into slavery.

He was in the place of God when he was falsely accused.

He was in the place of God when he was forgotten in prison.

His circumstances did not define his place in God.

Sometimes, we are tempted to question God because our present situation does not look like His promise. But what you see today is not the full picture.

God can be working in places you cannot see and arranging things you cannot yet understand.

Joseph’s journey was not wasted. Every difficult season was preparing him for the purpose God had already ordained.

Everything he experienced was working together for his good.

2 Corinthians 13:8 says, “For we cannot do anything against the truth, but only for the truth.”

The truth will always prevail.

So, your waiting is working for your good.

Your delay is working for your good.

Your process is working for your good.

Your present circumstances cannot cancel God’s purpose for your life.

Therefore, don’t give up because of what you see today.

You are still in the place of God.

DON’T CHANGE YOUR CONFESSION!

Are you hearing me! What was meant to destroy you is all  part of your testimony. What others meant for evil, God is turning for your good.

Stay where God has planted you

FAITH CONFESSION

I am in the place of God. My circumstances do not define me; God’s Word defines me. I trust His process, His timing, and His purpose for my life. I will not give up because of what I see today. Every season is working together for my good. What was meant for evil, God is turning for good. I am being prepared, positioned, and propelled into everything God has ordained for me. My story will end in praise, glory, and testimony, in Jesus’ name. Amen!
