“The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.” (Psalm 16:6)
As a Christian, you have a divine advantage in life. You were not saved to struggle endlessly or live beneath God’s provision. You were born into a godly heritage and called to inherit a blessing (1 Peter 3:9). David understood this reality when he declared, “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want” (Psalm 23:1). In Christ, you lack nothing—He is your sufficiency.
The Bible tells us in Ephesians 1:3 that God has already blessed us with every spiritual blessing in heavenly places in Christ. This means that nothing is missing in God’s provision for your life. However, it is important to understand what the blessing truly is. The blessing is not a house, a job, money, or possessions. The blessing is an empowerment—the divine enablement that produces those things. When the blessing is at work, results follow naturally.
It is possible for someone to be blessed and yet not walk in the blessing. This happens when the believer is ignorant of the principles that activate it or chooses to live contrary to God’s Word. Psalm 1 gives us clear insight into how the blessing is manifested. The blessed person refuses ungodly counsel, delights in the Word of God, meditates on it consistently, and lives it out daily. As a result, such a person is described as a tree planted by rivers of water—fruitful, stable, unwithering, and prosperous in all they do.
Walking in the blessing requires alignment. It requires a life that reflects righteousness, obedience, and devotion to God’s Word. James 1:22 reminds us that it is not enough to hear the Word—we must be doers of the Word. It is in the doing that the blessing becomes visible and tangible.
In this year of PLENTY AND PRAISE, God is calling you to live deliberately. Refuse compromise. Stay rooted in the Word. Let your life showcase the grace, favor, and empowerment of God that is already upon you. As you walk in alignment with His Word, the blessing will speak for itself through your results.
Faith-Filled Confession
The lines have fallen unto me in pleasant places. I have a goodly heritage in Christ. I am empowered by God to prosper in all things. I manifest health, increase, wisdom, productivity, favor, and unending progress, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
