"For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him" (2 Corinthians 5:21)
Many of us have been made conversant with the idea that God is our righteousness by Isaiah 54:17, which says, "No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, And their righteousness is from Me," Says the LORD." We know that God is our vindication in matters of the demands of justice.
However, many are not familiar with the idea that we are God's vindication, and therefore, the evidence producers that our God is a righteous God. You see, when you became a Christian, the righteousness of God became a part of your spirit and gave you the capability to live right before God and all of His creation. In this regard, you became God's justification to judge the world. Every time you make a decision based on the Word of God, you declare God's righteousness and condemn the world. Hebrews 11:7 says, "By faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household, by which he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith." Each day that you live according to the dictates of your righteous nature, you condemn the world, and this is why the world will always antagonize Christians who live right. Your life condemns them because it shows them a better way to live.
One way to live as the righteousness of God is to always share the gospel. The most important feature of righteousness is a witness who testifies. God testifies through Jesus' sacrifice that you were not guilty, having satisfied the demands of justice. Now, it is your turn to testify of His goodness by sharing the gospel, and this is how you demonstrate that you are His righteousness.
The rest of the world may malign you for being so different, but they are taking notice of your conduct, lifestyle, and message. They have no other option because in truth, you are the one they've been waiting for. Romans 8:19 tells us, "... the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God."
So be the Righteousness of God that you already are to the world around you.
Have a beautiful day!
Faith-Filled Confession
I am God's righteousness revealed to the world around me. I live right, and by my right living, many are drawn to Jesus. I am so different because I am Jesus' people-magnet, and they have no option but to take notice of me and be drawn to the brightness of my rising for my Beloved Master. Hallelujah!!!
