WHEN THE WILL OF GOD IS KNOWN, CONFER NOT WITH FLESH

04/30/2023

"But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother’s womb and called me through His grace, to reveal His Son in me, that I might preach Him among the Gentiles, I did not immediately confer with flesh and blood...(Galatians 1:15-16)

Whenever you know God's mind about a matter, there's no profit in rationalizing its merits or the sacrifices it entails. Your job is to say, "Yes, Lord" and comply. God's will may be known through four cardinal ways; the Word of God; the word of your parent, the inward witness or  a prophetic utterance.

The Word of God as contained in the Bible is the will of God made known. It is the principal way by which we discern God's will. For example, it is not God's will that you be anxious about anything. Philippians 4:6-7 RSV says, "Have no anxiety about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, will keep your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Knowing this, there is no justification for worry, no matter what your bank statement, doctor or spouse may be saying. So you don't entertain any voice that contradicts the will of God in the Bible.

Another way you can know the will of God is by your spiritual or biological parent. Proverbs 1:8 says, "My son, hear the instruction of your father, And do not forsake the law of your mother..." When your spiritual or biological parent offer you an instruction, it must line up with the Word of God. That's the only requirement for you to follow it completely. Hebrews 13:17 says, "Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive, for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you." These people that have the rule over you are your parents and they will give account for you to God, particularly if they mislead you. So if your parent says, you can't marry or be with someone, please don't argue, just obey.

The next channel by which the will of God may be known is the inward witness. This is the personal impression of the Holy Ghost in your heart about a subject matter, even as it aligns with the Word of God. For example, the Lord will never impress in your heart to marry an unbeliever. Hear me, if you have an impression to marry someone that is not born-again, it is not from God because that impression does not line up with 2 Corinthians 6:14 which says, "Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?" So let that impression die a natural death. Only impressions that line up with the Word of God are pointers to the will of God.

Lastly, are prophetic utterances. This one must line up with the Word of God, the word of a parent, and the inward witness. Prophecy can only confirm the Word of God or the inward witness as it is not a paramount way of discerning the will of God. Prophecy often comes as an intervention when God's people are not fully attentive or when they require additional confirmation. 1 Corinthians 14:3 says, "But he who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men."

There is no need arguing with or rationalizing God's will once it is known. God is the potter and you are the clay. Your job is to comply. The Bible says, "But now, O LORD, You are our Father; We are the clay, and You our potter; And all we are the work of Your hand." (Isaiah 64:8). The best thing you can do when you know God's will is pray a prayer of consecration like Jesus saying, "Father, if You are willing, remove this cup from Me; yet not My will, but Yours be done.”Have a beautiful day!" (Luke 22:42)

Have a blessed day!

Faith-Filled Confession

I am in the will of God for my life because the will of God is not obscure to me. I live in the will of God for me every day and my success is sealed and settled. Hallelujah!
