“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour” (1 Peter 5:8).
Your words are powerful markers in the spiritual realm. What you say at any given moment determines your spiritual address and how spirits respond to you. As 1 Peter 5:8 warns us, the enemy is on the prowl, seeking someone to devour, and he does this by listening intently to the words you speak.
If your words are wholesome and aligned with God's truth, you're safe from the enemy’s snares. However, if you’re careless with your speech, you may unknowingly open yourself up to satanic attacks, often leading to significant losses.
Jesus emphasized the importance of our words when He said, “But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned” (Matthew 12:36-37). When Jesus prefaces His teaching with “But I say to you…,” He is highlighting a truth with eternal significance.
Your words may take time to manifest in the physical world, but the moment they’re spoken, they become a reality in the spiritual realm. Romans 10:10 teaches, “For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Your words carry immediate weight, and through the principle of confession (or “homologia” in the original Greek), what you say either aligns with God—whose will for you is life—or with the devil, whose agenda is death and destruction.
The choice is yours, but God urges you to be mindful of your words. Proverbs 18:21 reminds us, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.” Understand this: Satan cannot penetrate the walls of your life unless you speak words that align with his destructive plans. Proverbs 25:28 says, “Whoever has no rule over his own spirit is like a city broken down, without walls.”
A person who doesn’t control their spirit often speaks carelessly. Don’t be that person. Instead, allow God to rule over your spirit by consistently and abundantly confessing His Word.
Have a spectacular day today in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Faith-Filled Confession
The Word of God is my foundation, no matter the circumstances I face each day. I understand that my battle is the good fight of faith. Therefore, I hold tightly to eternal life, with God's Word on my lips, confident that I will never surrender any part of my life to the enemy. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
Prayer Direction

- Psalm 127:3: "Children are indeed a heritage from the LORD, and the fruit of the womb is His reward."
2. Pray that our children bring honor and joy to their parents throughout this school year. Pray against any attempts by the enemy to use our children to hinder the grace of God in our lives.
- Proverbs 15:20: "Sensible children bring joy to their father; foolish children despise their mother."
