WALKING BY FAITH AND NOT BY SIGHT

8/27/2025

“So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” — 2 Corinthians 4:18

The walk of faith can feel frustrating until we understand how it truly works. Faith is not rooted in our five senses. If it were, there would be no need for it—because you don’t need to believe in what you can already see or touch.

As children of God, we are called to live beyond what our senses dictate. Ephesians 2:10 (AMP) declares: “For we are God’s handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus… that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].” This glorious life can only become reality when we walk by faith.

To walk by faith is to live by the Word. But faith is not just words—it is action. Many say, “I live by faith,” yet stop short of acting on God’s Word.

In Acts 14:8–10, we read about a man crippled from birth who listened intently as Paul preached. Perceiving he had faith to be healed, Paul commanded, “Stand upright on your feet!” The man responded, leaped up, and walked. His miracle was released when he acted on his faith.

Maybe you’ve prayed for a change, but the only thing that has shifted is your confession. What started as bold declarations—“I command this mountain to move”—may have weakened into, “God, please help me; I’m tired.” That’s moving from faith into unbelief.

You’re not alone. Many believers wrestle with this. But here is the key: when you pray, anchor your request in the Word, then receive it with your spirit, not your senses. Jesus said: “Whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” — Mark 11:24

This means you don’t have to feel or see the result first. You must know in your spirit that God has already granted your request.

Once you have received in your spirit, act on it. Like the man in Lystra, rise up and live as one who already has the answer. Let your words, attitude, and behavior align with your faith.

Don’t be moved by outward appearances. The visible is temporary, but God’s Word is eternal (2 Corinthians 4:18). Your miracle is real—receive it, act on it, and watch it manifest.
