"For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses" (2 Corinthians 10:4).
I heard a fellow recently say that the Christian life is full of ups and downs. As soon as I heard it, my spirit cried out, NOT ME! Not after all that Jesus died for me to have. I refuse ups and downs in Jesus' name. The strange part was that others who heard the same thing agreed with this fellow. I looked around and was amazed, and I asked, "Are you all joking or what? How can the Christian life be full of ups and downs?" Jesus said in John 15:16, "You have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you, and I have appointed you [I have planted you], that you might go and bear fruit and keep on bearing, and that your fruit may be lasting [that it may remain, abide], so that whatever you ask the Father in My Name [as presenting all that I Am], He may give it to you." In other words, we were hand-picked by God for a life of fruitfulness and ever-increasing glory. Jesus never mentioned us failing or described us as defeated. 2 Corinthians 2:14 puts it this way: "But thank God! He has made us His captives and continues to lead us along in Christ's triumphal procession. Now He uses us to spread the knowledge of Christ everywhere, like a sweet perfume."
Child of God, you are a success and victory. And whenever you encounter failure, you have been anointed to turn it into success. The Scripture says, "…Now He uses us to spread the knowledge of Christ everywhere, like a sweet perfume." Just like God said to Abram in Genesis 12:2, "I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing." He is saying to you, be my influence on the earth. However, you cannot be God's influence on the earth if you still believe that life is full of ups and downs. Proverbs 4:18 says, "But the path of the just (righteous) is like the light of dawn, that shines brighter and brighter until [it reaches its full strength and glory in] the perfect day."
Am I then saying that you will not face challenges? Certainly not! As a Christian, you should be concerned if your faith never collides with hell and darkness. Truth be told, an attitude of the unconquerable is what draws hell and darkness to you because it takes such an attitude to bring salvation and liberation to those that are not saved. So when the challenges present themselves, remember 2 Corinthians 10:4, which says, "For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses." Our weapon of warfare this month is HALLELUJAH! We declare "Hallelujah" with the understanding that we were declared victors from the beginning. And this victory that we have in Christ Jesus is everlasting.
Praise God!
Faith-filled Confession:
"...God is great—everything works together for good for his servant." I'll tell the world how great and good You are; I'll shout Hallelujah all day, every day" (Psalm 35: 27-28 MSG).
