UNWHOLESOME WORDS

04/09/2024

“Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers” (Ephesians 4:29).

Christianity offers an exhilarating life! The Apostle Peter aptly described it as an inexpressible and glorious joy. However, I recognize that this perception may not resonate with everyone. For many, this joy remains elusive because they haven't fully embraced the Word of God. Jesus Himself declared, "...My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life," and He has already fulfilled that promise. Therefore, if a Christian is not experiencing victory each day, it's not because it's unattainable. Rather, it's because the Word has not been effectively applied in their lives, for the Word of God never fails to deliver on its promises.

When I hear statements like, “Life sometimes can be hard and unforgiving; you really don't know when it will throw you a bucket,” I can't help but wonder what these people are talking about. What's most astonishing is when I hear fellow believers confess that life is unforgiving, hard, terrible, and full of ups and downs. In all honesty, I feel pity for them. At the same time, it's evident that the reality of the God-life has not yet fully resonated within their spirits. How can a born-again child of God, filled with the Holy Spirit, make such perplexing confessions? How can a Christian utter such corrupt words? Have they not read Ephesians 4:29 which says, “Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers?” There's nothing more corrupt than voicing words that don't align with the finished works of Christ. When I hear Christians speak in such a manner, I'm compelled to ask, “Which life is hard?” Certainly not the God-life!

The non-Christians are under the rudiments of this world; they are controlled by a taskmaster called the devil. It is hard and unforgiving for them because the one that governs them is unforgiving and wicked. However, for you that is born again, David said, “Glorious things are spoken of you, O city of God” (Psalm 87:3). What things? Jesus said “... My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life” (John 10:10 NLT). The Amplified version of the same verse elaborates, “…I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows].” Speaking of the glorious promises for believers, Romans 8:37 declares, “Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.” In other words, regardless of the challenges we face on earth, we have already secured an overwhelming victory through Jesus Christ. Hallelujah!

So, now that you are born again, it's time to break free from thinking and speaking like those who are not saved. Your life isn't a rollercoaster of ups and downs; you possess eternal life within you. You embody beauty and grace, shining forth the glory of God. You are the very expression of divine essence, victorious over hell and death, perfected in Christ. Inside and out, you are distinct. Your life is beautiful and exhilarating, for Christ has set you free for true freedom. Therefore, stand firm, refusing to be burdened again by the chains of slavery.

In times of trial and trouble, rejoice and shout GLORY, knowing that victory is already yours. Refuse to speak words of death over yourself or others. Remember Ephesians 4:29: “Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.” If your words can minister grace to others, they can surely minister grace to you as well.

Be discerning with your speech. Speak words of life and wholesomeness, for they carry the power to uplift and bring grace to all who hear them.

God bless you!

Faith-Filled Confession:

My life is truly beautiful and filled with excitement. I am the epitome of beauty and grace, shining forth the glory of God and embodying His divine essence. As a victor over hell, Satan, and death, I stand in triumph. Every aspect of my being is brought to perfection. Glory to God! Hallelujah!
