"My son, give me your heart, And let your eyes observe my ways." (Proverbs 23:26)
Your heart is the location from which you follow God. You cannot observe God's words without first committing your heart to Him. What do I mean but committing your heart? I mean, giving God your ultimate attention. The illustration that fits how God would have you attend to Him in this season is that of a heat sensor camera. The moment you detect His impression in your heart, you move to that impression with rapt focus.
You see, during this season, you will be led to pray for strange things. You will intercede for nations and people that you know or do not know. There will be promptings to sow certain seeds and operate in certain gifts of the Spirit. This is why your sensitivity to the Holy Spirit must be like that heat sensor camera.
One simple way to heighten your sensitivity to the Father is to ask Him questions. In Jeremiah 33:3, He says to you, "'Call to Me, and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know." Ask Him what He is saying to you at the moment. Ask Him about the promptings or dreams you are receiving. One important thing to note is that your questions are a sign that you are paying attention to Him.
Questions are the proof of attention and anywhere attention goes, an increase follows. So if you would give God the attention required of you in this season, His influence in your life will increase massively, and this is something you should desire, even now.
Let nothing minister to you to miss church, not take notes when God speaks, and generally side-step promptings. This is your month to agree and fellowship with the Lord. What this means is that you and God will share a level of intimacy not yet precedented.
Have a beautiful day!
Faith-Filled Confession
I share an unprecedented intimacy with the Lord this month, presenting my heart before Him willfully. I am God's friend, and my heart is open to initiating conversations with Him via the Word and His witness in my heart. In Jesus' name. Amen.
