"Don't worry about anything, but pray about everything. With thankful hearts, offer up your prayers and requests to God. Then, because you belong to Christ Jesus, God will bless you with peace that no one can completely understand. And this peace will control the way you think and feel" (Philippians 4:6-7 CEV).
Are you facing a situation that has left you feeling down, inadequate, or powerless? It could be a challenge within your family or at your workplace. Philippians 4:6-7 (CEV) advises, "Don't worry about anything, but pray about everything. With thankful hearts offer up your prayers and requests to God. Then, because you belong to Christ Jesus, God will bless you with peace that no one can completely understand. And this peace will control the way you think and feel."
Worrying does not provide solutions. So rather than worry, pray about everything. The text doesn't suggest praying for some things while worrying about others, but it encourages praying about everything. And it is not an advice from man but an instruction from God.
Someone might wonder, "Why doesn't God simply eliminate the source of my worries so I have nothing to worry about?" However, that's not how it works. God encourages us not to worry because challenges are meant to propel us toward a higher purpose and destiny. God assured me years ago that He was more dedicated to my well-being and success than I could ever be. Since then, I say, I don't know enough to worry. Instead of letting situations overwhelm me, I entrust them to God. As 1 Peter 5:7 advises, "Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you." Now, when you cast your cares upon Him, leave them there. When you've prayed and entrusted that situation to God, and the enemy tries to flood you with fear and anxiety, speak in tongues and don't stop until the peace of God overwhelms you. If worry tried to creep in, apply the Scripture that instructs, "We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ" (2 Corinthians 10:5).
Today, be comforted by the Word. Trust God's Word; it does not fail. It may look like nothing is happening, but trust His Word. The same Word that got you saved is well able to keep you safe and attend to your every need. Remember, impossibility has never stopped God from being God. So trust Him with everything through prayer and watch Him work all things out for your good in Jesus' name. Amen!
Have a blessed day.
