THOU ART LOOSED

7/4/2026

"When Jesus saw her, He called her to Him and said, 'Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity.'" — Luke 13:12

Not every sickness is physical. Some of the deepest afflictions leave no visible symptoms, yet they cripple lives for years. Many people carry emotional, mental, and spiritual burdens without realizing they are living under an infirmity. Over time, these conditions become so familiar that they are accepted as normal—not only by those suffering, but sometimes even by those around them.

The woman in Luke 13 is a powerful example. For eighteen years, she lived bent over, unable to stand upright. She had adapted to her condition. It had become her reality. Even those who saw her regularly seemed to accept her condition as though nothing could be done. No one expected her to be free.

Sadly, the same happens today. Some have accepted fear as part of their personality. Others have normalized rejection, shame, anxiety, bitterness, insecurity, or the need to control everything. Some have even embraced lack, believing that poverty is a sign of holiness or that suffering is simply God's will for their lives.

But Jesus saw what everyone else had overlooked.

He did not see a woman destined to remain bound. He saw someone created for freedom. Before she ever asked for help, He called her forward and declared, "Woman, thou art loosed from thine infirmity."

What a powerful reminder that Jesus never normalizes what He came to destroy. He does not accommodate bondage—He breaks it. He does not adjust to oppression—He delivers from it.

Whatever has kept you bowed down is no match for the authority of Christ. Whether it is fear, rejection, disappointment, shame, anxiety, guilt, or any burden that has weighed on your heart, Jesus is still speaking words of freedom today.

Child of God, refuse to settle for what Christ died to set you free from. Lift your eyes above your circumstances and receive His Word. The same Savior who loosed that woman is alive today, and His power has not diminished.

Today, hear His voice speaking over your life: "You are loosed!" Walk in the freedom He has already provided, and refuse to return to the bondage from which He has delivered you.

Faith-Filled Confession

I am loosed by the authority of Jesus Christ. Every chain of fear, shame, rejection, anxiety, bitterness, and limitation is broken over my life. I refuse to normalize what Christ has redeemed me from. I stand upright in His grace, walk in His freedom, and live in the fullness of His purpose. Christ has made me free, and I will walk in that freedom every day. In Jesus' name, Amen.
