“And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come” (Matthew 24:14).
Jesus declared that the final sign before His return is the preaching of the gospel of the kingdom—not just any gospel, but this specific one—as a witness to all nations. The Greek word for “nations” here is ethnos, meaning ethnic groups. This means every tribe, language, and ethnicity must encounter this message before the end comes. The fact that Jesus has not returned yet proves this gospel has not yet taken full hold in every people group.
So, what is the gospel of the kingdom? It is the gospel of eternal life. The message that the divine Son became human so that humans could partake of the divine nature of the Father. Before His betrayal, Jesus prayed: “I in them and You in Me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that You sent Me and have loved them even as You have loved Me” (John 17:23). Until God’s divine creation is fully manifested in His children, the world will not truly believe.
This is no beggarly gospel. It doesn’t portray the Christian as helpless or disadvantaged. Instead, it proclaims the eternal triumph of Christ over death, hell, and the systems of this world. It declares that the new creation is above sickness, lack, oppression, bondage, confusion, and defeat. This is the gospel Jesus preached—and the one we are commissioned to live and declare.
When you received salvation, Jesus’ prayer became your reality. You became one with the Father, filled with His very life and nature. Christ is in you, and the Father in Him. Their presence is tabernacled in you! No weapon can prevail against you unless it first overcomes the Father and the Son. That’s why Paul boldly wrote: “…despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us” (Romans 8:37).
Though churches exist in every nation, not all have encountered this gospel. Jesus didn’t say the end would come once every city had a church building. He said this gospel of the kingdom—the message of eternal life and overwhelming victory—must be preached as a living witness, demonstrated in power and authority.
Beloved, embrace this gospel. Live it. Confess it. Manifest it before the world. Let your life shine with the evidence of eternal victory, so that many will believe and be saved.
Faith-Filled Confession:
I have eternal and overwhelming victory through Christ Jesus. I am born of God and have overcome the world. I dwell in health, walk in soundness of mind, and live in abundance. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
