“Around midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening. Suddenly, there was a massive earthquake, and the prison was shaken to its foundations. All the doors immediately flew open, and the chains of every prisoner fell off! ” (Acts 16:25-26).
The presence of adversity is a strong indicator of what kind of season you are in. By the Spirit, I say to you, it’s a season for miracles. And this is why we must be on alert and aligned with the Holy Ghost. 1 Corinthians 15:58 says, “With all this going for us, my dear, dear friends, stand your ground. And don’t hold back. Throw yourselves into the work of the Master, confident that nothing you do for Him is a waste of time or effort.” So, no matter what happens, stand your ground with the Word! Even when it seems like hell has broken loose, you must stay rooted in the Word.
Then, you must advance! In the face of adversities and contradictions, advance with the Word! Because the shaking that you are experiencing here and there pale in comparison to the weight of God’s presence and glory that is in you and upon you. So do not be perturbed by the activities of hell that you may see. If things have stalled or appeared to be difficult, cheer up! There's a bigger picture. Jesus put it this way in Matthew 24:28 when He spoke about the end times. He said, "Just as the gathering of vultures shows there is a carcass nearby, so these signs indicate that the end is near.”
Saints, be wise in this season! Do not let the challenges that come cause you to draw back speaking faith filled words. Also, do not be tempted to question the timing or pace of God's Spirit, because doing so, will only make you vulnerable to the deception and manipulations of the enemy. The Scriptures tell us of how Paul and Silas were arrested for preaching the gospel. In other words, their obedience to God brought about their predicament. Now, some may ask why God didn't prevent their arrest since they were doing His will. But Paul and Silas didn't reason that way. Such reasoning could only have led to depression, bitterness, and death. Instead of harboring such thoughts, they saw their predicament as a divine opportunity for a testimony. In Paul’s letter to the Philippians, he said, "Now I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that what has happened to me has actually served to advance the gospel" (Phillipians 1:12). Think about it for a moment. These brothers, were stripped naked, beaten severely, arrested, and thrown in jail with no plan for release. Yet, they never said to God, “Why did you allow this to happen.” But the Bible tells us that around midnight, Paul and Silas began to pray and sing hymns to God, as the other prisoners listened. That is to say, they held a solid front with the Word. They understood that they were in a dilemma but did not allow the happenings around them to change the reality that Christ had already given them the victory. So, right in the midst of chaos, instead of being downcast or complaining, they prayed and sang their way out of trouble!. Shout Amen!
Just like Paul and Silas, you must hold a solid front with the Word. Push against the resistance and obstacles. Put the Word on your lips and don’t stop speaking it forth.
Shout Hallelujah!
Faith-Filled Confession:
