THE WORDS YOU SAY WILL EITHER ACQUIT YOU OR CONDEMN YOU

6/22/2025

“The words you say will either acquit you or condemn you.” Matthew 12:37 (NLT)

Life is spiritual. And until you begin to live with the consciousness of who you are and what you have in Christ, you will continually face unnecessary struggles. It all starts with your words, your confession must align with your identity. Jesus said, “The words you say will either acquit you or condemn you” (Matthew 12:37), meaning you cannot live above the level of your confession.

If you desire marriage, for example, but constantly joke or speak about how you’ll never find someone or “probably die alone,” don’t be surprised when that becomes your experience. Society might tolerate or even normalize such speech, but in the realm of the spirit, your words create your reality. What you continually declare builds the path ahead of you.

Let me say it again: life is spiritual. If you take time to really listen to yourself, you might discover that the very words you’ve been speaking are reinforcing your current situation. I've found that many who struggle the most in life often have a careless or warped way of speaking, words of confusion, hopelessness, or victimhood. And when you challenge them on it, they brush it off: “I’m just tired” or “I’m just being real.” But the truth is, you don’t fix your life by “keeping it real” with negative speech. You fix your life by “keeping it Kingdom.”

Your circumstances do not define you. They may be difficult, but they are not permanent, unless your words make them so. When you speak words that reject the finished work of Christ. Words like “My life is over”or “I’m horrible” you’re declaring rebellion against your true identity in Him. Even if you find yourself “in the valley,” don’t set up camp there. Do what Ezekiel did: prophesy to the dry bones! Speak life. Declare victory. You are not to be pitied, you are anointed to bring joy and transformation to others!

Say it with me:

“I refuse to live a pitiful life. My life is Christ. I am victorious, exquisite, and perfected in Christ Jesus.”

Never forget that you are a solution bearer. You’re called to show the world what the blessing of the Lord looks like.Let your face be a billboard for the miraculous. Let your life speak hope. Let your demeanor radiate peace. You are not broken, you are whole in Christ. You are not defeated, you are more than a conqueror.

So take charge of your words. They’re not just sounds, they are seeds. If you want to reap joy, speak it. If you want to walk in peace, declare it. Use your mouth to paint the picture of the future you desire. It’s all in your mouth, your glorious future is in your mouth.

Faith-Filled Confession

I am not a victim. I am not a product of my past failures. I am a product of the eternal Word of God. I am victorious. I am strong. I have peace. I have a beautiful life. The joy of the Lord is my strength. I have a purpose, and I choose to live each day on purpose. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
