THE WORD IS LIGHT

06/11/2024

"For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone believing—both to Jewish first, and to Greek.  For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith, as it has been written: "And the righteous will live by faith" (Romans 1:16-17).

David said in Psalm 119:130, "The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple." However, a more accurate translation of the original text reveals that it says, "becomes light" rather than "gives light." So this text could also read, "The entrance of Your Word becomes light and the light gives discernment." Without discernment, we cannot exercise dominion over this world and the kingdom of darkness.

Every word that comes out of the mouth of God is LIGHT, and when we meditate on God's Word, we increase the intensity of that light. It's like feeding on something that eventually finds its expression in your body. In this instance, you are feeding on light, and the more you feed on it, the greater your testimony and level of discernment.

Discernment is the ability to know things without the use of one's intellect, and God's Word helps us to discern correctly. So, if there is any issue in your life that has become a mystery, it is time to turn to the Word. God's Word is an X-ray machine, a revealer of things and beings. Until you know God's Word, you will walk in darkness, which is the adversary's only advantage over the affairs of a Christian.

Hebrews 4:12 says, "For the Word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires." Hosea 4:6 says, "My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also reject you as my priests; because you have ignored the law of your God, I also will ignore your children." Notice that the lack of knowledge is tied to the rejection of God's Word.

Why would anyone reject the Word of God? You may ask. The answer is the same today as it was back then. The cares of this world are one major reason. Sometimes you hear folks say, "I know what the Bible says, but I think I am going to do this and that." God didn't say they are destroyed because the enemy is powerful or because the sickness was incurable, but because they rejected His Word.

Hear me, saints, it's unprovable that a person took hold of the Word with their spirit and ended up in chaos or became disadvantaged. It's impossible! There is no cancer, poverty, oppression, or any other thing that befalls men that can stand against the firepower of God's divine essence. Nothing contrary to His divine essence can survive a second in His presence. John 1:4-5 says, "In Him was life, and life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it." When it says darkness can never extinguish it, it means that darkness is eternally incapacitated in the presence of light. Hallelujah!

When Paul the Apostle said, "For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone believing—both to Jewish first, and to Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith, as it has been written: 'And the righteous will live by faith'" (Romans 1:16-17), he understood the gospel as the power of God that brings salvation. In other words, the Word encased in the person of Jesus will heal the sick, raise the dead, open blind eyes, and reveal the righteousness of God. In the gospel, your true identity and all that belongs to you are revealed. In like manner, whatever the Word has not revealed must be rejected.

Today, I encourage you not to accept anything until you have first located it in God's Word.

Enjoy your life of bliss.

Faith-Filled Confession

Thank You, Father, for You are the revealer of all things. Thank You for wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Christ. Thank You for causing my understanding to be enlightened. You have opened my eyes to behold my inheritance in Your Word. Therefore, I live each day as a victor, enjoying all that You have paid for me to have. In Jesus' name, Amen.
