THE TRIBE OF BENJAMIN: A PEOPLE OF HOLINESS

06/11/2023

"Now the cities of the tribe of the children of Benjamin, according to their families, were... Zemaraim, Bethel" (Joshua 18:22-23).

The fifth city of the tribe of Benjamin is Zemaraim, and in Hebrew, Zemaraim is symbolic of wool. In other words, the Church are a people of wool. What does wool represent in the language of the Bible? Wool in the scripture, is a metaphor for spotlessness or holiness. Isaiah 1:18 tells us, "Come now, and let us reason together," Says the LORD, "Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool."

What this means is that the Tribe of Benjamin, which is a type of the Church, are a people characterized by Zemaraim, which in Hebrew signifies holy or spotless living. Recall that we have deduced previous devotionals that the term "city" or "cities" according to the Bible refers to a people with a particular quality.

That said, in order to fulfill our corporate destiny as the Church, which in Genesis 49:27, Jacob announces, "Benjamin is a ravenous wolf; In the morning he shall devour the prey, And at night he shall divide the spoil..." holy living is not negotiable. 1 Peter 1:15 says, "...He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct."

This therefore means that there can be no devouring of preys in the morning or dividing of spoils in the night without first living holy. The reason why certain demonic manifestations refuse to yield to the authority of many believers is in this respect of holiness. For you to enjoy the level of victory that God ordained for you and to live and walk in absolute authority that causes hell to tremble, you must keep yourself unspotted by the world, the flesh, and the devil.

If the enemy can not stain you with offense or a dirty activity, he will try by soiling your thoughts. Otherwise, you will be invincible. So remember, living holy is not about refusing evil indulgences; it is a warfare strategy for dominating the enemy, and we that have been chosen are called to rule and reign.

Hallelujah!!!

Faith-Filled Confession

I am holy because my God is holy. I take charge of my conduct in all things and live out the demands of my consecration as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. My victory is, therefore, resounding and untainted. In Jesus' name. Amen.
