"Now the cities of the tribe of the children of Benjamin, according to their families, were... Geba" (Joshua 18:21,24).
For the Church to manifest its divine destiny, it must be a people who understand authority and prominence. As we have been searching the scriptures over the past week, we have established that Benjamin or the tribe of Benjamin is a foreshadowing of the Church. The purpose and destiny of Benjamin, as prophesied by his father, Jacob, is so tied to the destiny of the Church that if we grasp it, members of the Church will always come out on top of every issue or situation. Genesis 49:27 captures the divine purpose and destiny of the Church as follows, "Benjamin is a ravenous wolf; In the morning he shall devour the prey, And at night he shall divide the spoil." This implies that the Church has been destined to dominate in the physical, metaphysical, and spiritual realms.
To fulfill this destiny, however, the Church will have to embody certain qualities which are metaphorically represented in the Bible as "the cities of the tribe of Benjamin." In the past two weeks, we have unraveled the meaning of eleven of the twelve cities of the tribe of Benjamin as they relate to what we must become to be the respectable Church of the Father's dream.
And finally, the twelfth city, Geba implies that we must be a people of authority and prominence to be the powerhouse that we were called to be. Geba in Hebrew means hill, and in Bible speak, the term hill is a metaphor for authority and prominence. Matthew 5:14 says, "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden." So, what does it mean to be a person of authority and prominence? It means that you are a pacesetter and reference point. You are one that the rest of the world looks up to. This means that you must know how to function in and under authority and your place of prominence.
The centurion whose servant was sick, and came to Jesus to heal him, understood what every believer should. Matthew 8:8-9 says, "The centurion answered and said, "Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed. For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to this one, 'Go,' and he goes; and to another, 'Come,' and he comes; and to my servant, 'Do this,' and he does it."
The first thing you must accept as a person of authority and prominence is that our kingdom is a kingdom of rank. Everything in our Kingdom is ranked. Colossians 1:16 says, "For by Him (Christ) all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him."
Everything responds to rank, so if something is above your station as a believer, there is one in your congregation whose rank you can take advantage of. Never again let a stubborn issue perturb you. Speak to that issue in the name of Jesus and watch it dissipate and if, perchance, it's origins are of a higher rank, then obtain your desired outcome by an increase of rank. How? Four ways. You increase your rank by the impartation of one with a higher rank (see Romans 1:11) Bible study (see Acts 20:32), prayer and fasting (see Matthew 17:21), or sowing seeds into the anointing of one with a higher rank (see Matthew 10:41). Painstakingly study the referenced scriptures attached to these four ways to take advantage of rank and never back down from a satanic confrontation.
In the end, the exercise of rank in our kingdom will only happen as you speak in authority, using the name of Jesus, or operate in agreement with or under the authority of another in the name of Jesus.
Have a blessed day.
Faith-Filled Confession
I operate in and under authority using the name of Jesus. I am a person of authority and prominence by divine right. Therefore I rule in the affairs of this life, and I also exercise my dominion over wicked spirits in the realm of the supernatural. In the name of Jesus. Amen
