"Now the cities of the tribe of the children of Benjamin, according to their families, were... Chephar Haammoni..." (Joshua 18:21,24).
For the Church to fulfill its destiny of rulership in any and every sphere of life, we must congregate from time to time. If you have been following the devotional for the past week, you now know that the tribe of Benjamin was a foreshadowing of the Church, and Benjamin's destiny as prophesied by his father, Jacob, is akin to the destiny of the Church. Genesis 49:27 says, "Benjamin is a ravenous wolf; In the morning he shall devour the prey, And at night he shall divide the spoil." This implies that the Church has been destined to rule in the physical and spiritual realms.
To fulfill this destiny, the Church will have to embody certain qualities for which "the cities of the tribe of Benjamin" is a metaphor. Over the last week, we have searched out the meaning of nine of the twelve cities of the tribe of Benjamin as they affect the qualities we must embody to be a victorious church.
The tenth city, Cephar-Hammoni, in Hebrew, means a village of people or congregation. In essence, we must congregate with one another to maintain our invincibility. Matthew 18:19-20 says, "Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them." Your ability to rule and reign and make advancement in destiny is connected to your participation in congregational activities. This is why Hebrews 10:25 says, "not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching."
Chephar-Hammoni means that you never miss an opportunity to congregate with others because it is in our congregating that the commanded blessing of God shows up. Psalm 133:2-3 describes our act of congregating with one another, saying, "It is like the precious oil upon the head, Running down on the beard, The beard of Aaron, Running down on the edge of his garments. It is like the dew of Hermon, Descending upon the mountains of Zion; For there the LORD commanded the blessing— Life forevermore."
And don't just wait for times when we meet to congregate; if there is a matter that needs to be resolved quickly, pick up the phone and call your life group leader or someone in your Life Group and initiate the power of congregation. Understand, particularly in the case of spiritual warfare that this kind is better prosecuted corporately. Leviticus 26:8 says, "Five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight; your enemies shall fall by the sword before you."
We are a congregating people, and when we congregate, our dominion and victory is utterly unstoppable.
God bless you
Faith-Filled Confession
I take advantage of the corporate anointing to prosecute God's agenda for my life. And every time I congregate with others, the power of God is present to save, rescue, deliver and heal. In Jesus' name. Amen.
