"Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God" (Hebrews 12:1-2).
The fourth incarnation of Yeho-Shua is the resurrected Lord who sits at the right hand of the Father. He is the author and finalizer of our words, thoughts, and actions. Meaning, he governs what and how we think, what and how we speak, what and how we do what we are told to do. Jesus puts it this way: “For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak” (John 12:49). Not only was Jesus told what to say but the Father also told Him how to say what to say. Praise God!
The same thing is expected of us today. Hebrews 12:1-2 says, “Let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.” Notice how God not only dictated His exceptions to us but also outlined how to achieve them. He tells us to look away from everything and focus ONLY on Jesus. Meaning that our dominion over this world and sin lies in our perpetual meditation on the Lord Jesus—THE WORD OF GOD.
No wonder Colossians 3:17 says, "And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.” The name of the Lord Jesus here means that you bring your thoughts, words, and deeds under the authority of the Word of God in Christ Jesus. The only way this will happen is revealed in Joshua 1:8 AMP: "This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall read [and meditate on] it day and night, so that you may be careful to do [everything] in accordance with all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will be successful."
Looking intently at the WORD through meditation is how you become what you see. It's how the glorious church for which He will return is to be forged. Make no mistakes about it; He is not coming for a weak and beggarly church. He is not coming for a church hooked on anyone other than Him. The Bible says, "Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish."
Let your mouth begin to mutter what your eyes see in the Word! It is your finest hour, Child of God. Possibilities and miracles await you today.
Have a beautiful day!
Faith-Filled Confession:
My mouth speaks, and my spiritual eyes see the Author and Finisher of my faith. As this happens, I become more of who I am in the Lord Jesus Christ. I am unstoppable, miracle-working, gospel-preaching, and devil-defying with the very breath that proceeds into and from my lungs. The impregnable image of JESUS is born from within me. Hallelujah!
