"Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them." (Mark 11:24)
The prayer of faith has often been misconstrued as the prayer where you pray once and just thank the Lord for the answer and move on. However, it is not just the shotgun prayer as it has often been portrayed. The prayer of faith sometimes requires that you have spent time refining your aim before you take the shot.
John 15:7 strengthens this idea. "If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you." So the prayer of faith requires that you have abided in the word of God and God's word about the thing you desire has settled in your heart before you pray the one-off prayer of faith.
Saint, if you will have intercourse with God's word about the thing you want first, you will intuitively know when to pray the prayer of faith such that after you have prayed you will know that you have hit the bull's eye on the thing you are desiring.
Peter grounds this idea perfectly when He writes, "We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn and the day star arise in your hearts" (2 Peter 1:19 KJV). When the day dawns and the day star arises in your heart is when you know to pull the trigger by praying the prayer of faith.
And after you have prayed the prayer of faith, the only thing that would naturally follow is thanksgiving and praise to God.
May God cause His glorious face to shine on you today and give you the glory of seven days on this very day. In the name of the Lord Jesus. Amen
