THE POWER OF RIGHTEOUSNESS

“For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith, as it has been written: ‘And the righteous will live by faith.’” — Romans 1:17

What is the righteousness of God? The righteousness of God is the perfection of God’s personality. It is the totality of His essence displayed in the person of Jesus. It is God’s divine ability unveiled; an intrusion into the sense realm and darkness for the sole purpose of putting an end to failure and darkness. Better still, righteousness is what makes God who He is.Righteousness is not something God has; rather, it is who He is.

Righteousness is power—the same power displayed when Moses and the children of Israel faced the Red Sea. When the disciples were in the midst of a turbulent sea, Jesus stepped into the boat, and the sea became calm. Righteousness stepped into a situation that was wrong and made it right.

The woman with the issue of blood connected her faith with righteousness, and her situation turned around. From Genesis to Revelation, those who collided with righteousness were either made right themselves or had their situations made right.

Righteousness is God’s answer to the chaos of this world.

In Acts 5:15-16, people brought the sick into the streets so that Peter’s shadow might fall on them, and they were healed. In Acts 19:12, handkerchiefs and aprons that had touched Paul were taken to the sick, and diseases and evil spirits left them.

Why was it so? It was the presence of righteousness.

Yet Peter made it clear that the power was not his own. After the lame man at the Beautiful Gate was healed, Peter said, “By faith in the name of Jesus, this man whom you see and know was made strong.” (Acts 3:16)

In other words, the name of Jesus is the key to activating the power of righteousness.

No wonder Romans 1:16-17 says the Gospel of Jesus Christ is not only the power of God but also the revelation of God’s righteousness. The Greek word translated “revealed” is apokaluptó, which means to uncover or manifest. The Gospel reveals and manifests the ability of God’s divine essence.

Here is something I don’t want you to miss: you cannot activate the power of God by standing in your own righteousness. That’s why Papa God made Jesus your righteousness (1 Corinthians 1:30). And 2 Corinthians 5:21 calls you the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.

Here is the conclusion of the whole matter: you have the nature of righteousness, and you have been given the power of attorney to use the name of Jesus. In the mind of God, you are His solution to an upside-down culture. You are His ability to right the wrongs of this world.

When you call on the name of Jesus, the power of His righteousness will be manifested and uncovered, and the people in your sphere of influence will be touched by the power of God.

I hear God say, “My child, use the name!”

FAITH-FILLED CONFESSION

I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. Righteousness works in me and in every fiber of my being. Righteousness is uncovered and manifested in me to those around me, and it puts an end to the issue of sin, failure, and darkness. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
