"All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness..." (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
Every revelation of scripture is actionable intelligence. If you fail to take action after you hear the word of God, the Bible says, you have deceived your spirit. James 1:22 says, "... be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves."
When you hear the word of God and keep it aside, the Bible paints a dire picture of you. I would to God that He opened your eyes to see what James described when he writes, "For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was." (James 1:23-24).
The Word of God, in the realm of the spirit, is a mirror. Maybe, you have been struggling with alcoholism or prayerlessness. That's a sign that you have not looked long in the mirror. The reason why you are struggling is because you keep forgetting how you look, spiritually. James 1:25 says, "But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does."
Someone might be asking, "How do I take a hard long look in the mirror?" Simple, you meditate on the word. And for that brother or sister struggling with alcoholism or prayerlessness, take Colossians 1:12-13, commit it to memory and keep saying it every so often for the next few days. Pray with it. Put it on a card where you can see it several times a day. It's time for you to testify.
The mirror is God's portal to transport you from one level of glory to another just as it says in 2 Corinthians 3:18, "But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does."
Child of God, this is a call away from a casual existence to something new. Look for a mirror and transport yourself from depression. He says, "But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does" (Phillippians 4:6). Look for a mirror and transport yourself our of those symptoms. "that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: “ He Himself took our infirmities And bore our sicknesses.” (Matthew 8:17)
Look into that wonderful mirror of liberty that we have from the Lord today and travel!
Have a blessed day!
Faith-Filled Confession
I look long at the mirror of God until it produces what it talks about in me. I look long enough not to forget the image that I see. I look and I am metamorphosed from glory to glory, so much that I am unrecognizable to my former estate in the name of the Lord Jesus. Amen
