THE OVERCOMING POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

07/04/2024

"Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?" (1 Corinthians 6:19)

This season, there is a call to recognize and be conscious of the Holy Spirit within you. Just as you can tell when you are physically full after eating, you should be aware of the Holy Spirit’s presence in you. The Holy Spirit is your Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor, Counselor, Strengthener, and Standby. The word "know" in today's scripture means to "be conscious of." This implies that you should be continually aware of the Holy Spirit's role and presence in your life.

Why is this important? 1 John 4:4 tells us, "You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world." The Holy Spirit in you is your overcoming power. This means you have already overcome every challenge, habit, situation, pain, sickness, or opposition by His power.

However, having the Holy Spirit in you does not automatically guarantee that you will live every day as an overcomer. One way to activate the overcoming power of the Holy Spirit is by acknowledging His presence within you through regular confessions. Declare repeatedly, "The Holy Spirit lives in me" and "I am the temple of the Holy Spirit." Philemon 6 (AMP) says, "I pray that the sharing of your faith may become effective and powerful because of your accurate knowledge of every good thing which is ours in Christ."

The Holy Spirit in you is your limit-breaker and world-overcomer. As you acknowledge His presence, you activate His power within you. So, go ahead and confess the presence of the Holy Spirit until you are filled with His power.

Praise God!

Faith-Filled Confession:

The Holy Spirit lives in me. My Advocate is in me. My Strengthener is in me. I overcome the world by the Holy Spirit within me because He is greater than the prince of this world. Hallelujah!

Prayer and Fasting - Day 4 of 7

Pray for the Work of Ministries Around the World

Pray against individuals or institutions that persecute Christians and hinder the spread of the gospel. We declare that such forces will proceed no further and their efforts will be futile. Despite opposition, the gospel will spread and prevail.

  • 2 Timothy 3:8-9 – "Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith. But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was."

Declare that those in authority who oppose the gospel and God’s people will lose their influence. Their counsel will become foolishness and lose all value in the eyes of the leadership.

  • Proverbs 29:2 – "When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn."
