THE MONTH OF THE HOLY SPIRIT: A REJOINDER

"And He said, 'Let Me go, for the day breaks.' But he said, 'I will not let You go unless You bless me!'" (Genesis 32:26).
When the month began, we received a word that this would be the Month of the Holy Spirit. While this word has impacted many, it has yet to take root in the hearts of some in the manner that the Lord intended. The Holy Spirit is not merely an influence or a phenomenon. He is a person, and His agenda is to reintroduce Himself as the boss of your life so that you can live error-free.
The God-life we have received is an error-free life. John said, "Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God" (1 John 3:9). The concept of sin stretches beyond immorality. Sin is error—it is living contrary to God’s design.
For example, when a Christian says, “I am a sinner saved by grace,” that statement itself is a sin because it errs on the principle of scripture. God calls you His child, and this is part of the ministry of the Holy Spirit: to lead you as God’s child.
Romans 8:16-17 says, "The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together." If a Christian is God’s child, how then can he or she say, “I am a sinner”?
This is the source of all identity crises among Christians—the lack of recognition of the Holy Spirit’s witness. This is part of what He has come to fix this month: to give you an accurate description of who you are in God.
You cannot know yourself or your true capabilities without the Holy Spirit. One time, He appeared to Gideon, who was languishing in obscurity, and said, "The LORD is with you, you mighty man of valor!" (Judges 6:12). Gideon went on to do valiant things for God’s people. This is why you cannot be casual about the things the Holy Spirit tells you this month. If you have yet to hear Him speak specifically to you about your capabilities, it’s time to raise your spiritual antenna by speaking in tongues and paying attention to His channels of communication (in your heart, through your leaders, parents, or other believers, and most especially, through the Scriptures). Be keen about Him speaking to you, and He will.
This month is a turning point for you, and you must refuse to leave behind anything that the Lord has earmarked for you.
Have a spectacular day!
Faith-Filled Confession
I declare that this is still my Month of the Holy Spirit. His voice is loud and audible in my heart because I am the sheep of His pasture. He is my shepherd, and I hear only His voice. I am who He says I am, and there is finality in my heart about who I am to Him. Thank you, Holy Spirit, for I have enjoyed your fellowship with me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
