"But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, to the extent that He is also the mediator of a better covenant, which has been enacted on better promises." (Hebrews 8:6)
One of the reasons, and I dare say that the main reason Jesus came was to be your high priest. Now if you understand that the Father is particularly moved by the quality of a sacrifice, you will be able to grasp what Jesus wrought when He offered Himself through the Eternal Spirit to God (according to Hebrews 9:12).
The Bible says that Jesus was the mediator of a better covenant, enacted on better promises. What does this mean? Hebrews 8:10 states, "For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the LORD: I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people."
What is this law that God put on your mind by reason of the ministry of Jesus, your high priest? Romans 5:5 says, "Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us." The law He put in our minds is the love of God by the Holy Ghost.
You see, under the first covenant, the elect could not fulfill their part and Jesus had to die to satisfy the demand of justice for the non-fulfillment of the first covenant. However, with the second covenant, Jesus introduced the love law and also paid for you to be able to fulfill your part.
"Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ (Matthew 22:37-39). And then, Jesus' sacrifice gave you the capacity to love and receive love from God.
The ministry of Jesus as your high priest simply means that based on the love law, anything is manifestable with you. Romans 8:32 says, "He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?" And so, as the Holy Ghost reveals the ministry of Jesus to you as high priest, two things will settle in your heart like never before; God's sacrifice-based love for you and the love of God that has been broadcast all over your heart.
Love manifests and it does so through your revelation of Jesus as high priest.
God bless you
Faith-Filled Confession
I grasp the ministry of Jesus as my high priest and for this reason, since I have the love of God as a present-hour possession, nothing in this life is too good for me. I live a faultless, miracle-working and abundant life for which Jesus sits at the right of God and I have been made to sit together with Him. And my testimonies are of the excellence that He procured for me, all the days of my life. Hallelujah!!!
