"The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want." (Psalm 23:1)
When God reveals Himself to His people, the import of it is to boost their confidence in Him and His ability to perform on the merit of how He chooses to reveal Himself. In today's theme scripture, we find that YAHWEH, the One who defeated Egypt and drowned their army in the Red Sea; the One who decapitated Dagon, the arch-god of Philistia, is also our shepherd.
Stop for a moment and let this scripture soak in by saying this a few times to yourself: "The Lord is my shepherd, I don't need anything." Now, who is a shepherd? A shepherd is a guide who doesn't just lead the sheep in the way they ought to go but He is at the ready to neutralize any threat, whatsoever. David gave us an insight into the role of a shepherd when he said to Saul, "...Your servant used to keep his father’s sheep, and when a lion or a bear came and took a lamb out of the flock, I went out after it and struck it, and delivered the lamb from its mouth; and when it arose against me, I caught it by its beard, and struck and killed it." (1 Samuel 17:34-35)
This is who Papa God is to you. If only you knew how many things Papa God has delivered and continues to deliver you from, you'd be astounded. He is sworn to keep you in peace such that nothing is missing or broken in your life. Hebrews 13:20-21 says, "Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you complete in every good work to do His will, working in you what is well pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen."
In essence, Papa God shepherds you by working in you what is well pleasing in His sight through the word of God. Sometimes, He may direct your heart with scripture or lead you through the inward witness concerning what He seeks to accomplish in you or prevent you from. Either way, it is important to understand that as you gain consciousness of Papa God as your shepherd, you will never experience being stranded. Deuteronomy 31:8 says, "And the LORD, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.”
Gain the consciousness of Papa God as your shepherd by meditating on Psalm 23 throughout the day today. Say the psalm as many times as you can. And I pray that the glory of God's grace to accomplish a consciousness of Papa God as your shepherd will be present with you today as never before. I bring you through this door of understanding in Jesus' name. Amen.
Be blessed.
Faith-Filled Confession
The Lord is my shepherd. I want for nothing. I live, excised of any oppression. I am sound and bold in the Great One who shepherds me. I am led beside the streams of refreshment and strength by the word and the Spirit to the dismay of my adversaries. I celebrate YAHWEH, my shepherd. Hallelujah!
Prayer Direction
During the fast, a word of prophecy came forth: “Every ONLY will become the FIRST.” Today, we are praying and declaring a multiplication of grace, favor, and testimonies in our family.
Pray against every attempt of hell to cause confusion and division in your family. Declare that the peace and joy of God overwhelm your family.
