THE LIFE IN CHRIST: A LIFE OF SIGNS

“And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”(Mark 16:17-18)

The life in Christ is a life of the demonstration of the Spirit. It is not just a life of words and preaching but a life accompanied by evidence of our divinity. In 1 Corinthians 2:4, the Bible says, “And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power.”

How can others know that God lives in certain people who claim to be Christian without tangible evidence? This is why the people in Christ are a people of signs. Mark 16:17-18 says, “And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

You are a person approved of God by signs and wonders. Jesus said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.” (John 14:12)

The works are miracles and Jesus says that because you believe in Him, you are a miracle worker if His life is you. Now, if somehow, you are reading this devotional and you have not been born again, it’s time to receive the life of God into your heart. 

Say this prayer of affirmation and mean it with all your heart, “Oh Lord God, I affirm that Jesus is the Son of God. I believe He died for me and that You raised Him from the dead on the third day for my vindication. I affirm that by this sovereign act, I am now a child of God. And I can do all that God-life affords me. Hallelujah!”

Recognize that if you have made this affirmation, today or previously, you can work miracles. If you know someone who is sick, go witness to that person by laying hands and healing that person. If you were the one who was sick in your body, come into a consciousness of the life that you now have and simply declare that you are healthy. See, if God Almighty cannot be sick, you cannot be sick. 

The life in Christ is a life in the God class of life. It is living as though God were living through you because He is. Recognize that this life that you have received entails heavy responsibility. Jesus said, “And that servant who knew his master’s will, and did not prepare himself or do according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. But he who did not know, yet committed things deserving of stripes, shall be beaten with few. For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more” (Luke 12:47-48).

What God has given you is His very life and what He expects is that you will showcase Him by signs to everyone in your world.

Faith-Filled Confession

I live the God-life, a life of honor and grace. I think, talk and act in conformity to the life of God that dwells in me, knowing that as the Father has life in Himself, so do I. I am the express image of my Father’s person. Hallelujah!
