“The grace (favor and spiritual blessing) of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the presence and fellowship (the communion and sharing together, and participation) in the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen (so be it).”
2 Corinthians 13:14 (AMP)
In the summer of 2001, after spending a glorious time praying and fellowshipping in the Word, I suddenly noticed the time—6:50 am—and realized I had a class at 7:30 am. From every indication, I was going to be late, and I didn’t want that to affect my grade.
Just as I was about to rush to the shower, I heard a voice say,
“Five more minutes.”
I turned around to see who had spoken, but there was no one there. In that moment, I knew the Lord was speaking. He was courting me, calling me to linger a little longer. I didn’t know why, and honestly, it didn’t matter. All I knew was that I had to obey. Even if I had a major exam that day, I would have stayed—because when God asks, you yield.
So I knelt back down and continued praying in the Spirit.
Looking back, I still don’t know the full reason why He asked me to stay. But just before I left the house, a colleague called to inform me that the class I had at 7:30 am was canceled.
Yet, in my spirit, I knew it wasn’t just about the class. Something greater had happened. I may not be able to tell you exactly what God birthed in me that morning, but I am confident that something BIG happened when I yielded.
Have you ever felt the courting of the Holy Spirit? That gentle nudge to do something?
To pray longer?
To give something away?
To love more, serve, forgive, or be patient?
To linger more in the Word?
As a child of God, you will feel that pull—sometimes quietly, sometimes urgently. And when you yield, you are stepping into a divine promotion.
There is no one in Scripture who yielded to God’s pruning and ended up disadvantaged. Every single one became a success. Obedience to the Spirit’s prompting is the path to fruitfulness.
I believe the Lord is saying to you today:
“Spend more time with Me than usual.”
Don’t say no. Don’t postpone it.
Decide to prolong your fellowship with the Holy Spirit in prayer and in the Word today. When you do, you will: Experience the tangible presence of God. Carry His presence into your world.
Be a living witness of His glory to those around you.
You may not fully grasp how important it is to God that you carry His presence each day. But know this: it means everything to Him. There’s an urgency in the Spirit concerning you—God desires to reveal Himself in you and through you.
So today, I urge you:Submit to the Lord’s call. Linger with Him. Stay with Him.
Faith-Filled Confession

Prayer Point
Pray for our brethren, that an indescribable hunger for souls is stirred in them, causing them to preach the Word everywhere with boldness, leading to the salvation of many. (Acts 4:29–31)
Pray that the light of our glorious Gospel will continue to shine with increased intensity in our city. Declare that signs and wonders will be a common occurrence whenever the Gospel is preached, until the knowledge of the glory of God covers our city as the waters cover the sea. (Habakkuk 2:14)
Declare that every opposition against our pastors is ineffective. Pray that through their ministry, the kingdom of God expands exceedingly, is established in the hearts of men, and the name of our Lord Jesus Christ is glorified. Amen.
