THE BENEFIT OF PRAYING FOR OTHERS

08/28/2023

"And the LORD restored Job's losses when he prayed for his friends. Indeed the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before" (Job 42:10).

The solutions we seek for ourselves are often only attainable when we help others get what they need. This is why intercession is important and should be considered a privilege. The Bible declares particularly concerning believers that God has an excellent plan for each of us. Jeremiah 29:11 says, "For I know the plans that I have for you,' declares the LORD, 'plans for prosperity and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope." Now, when you intercede, you help to position those for whom you intercede with God's plan of prosperity for their lives.

The Bible says God actively seeks for people to stand in the gap, not as a burden but as a partnership opportunity to propagate His marvelous plans for multiplied numbers of people per time. And when He finds no one, He breaks the protocol of waiting for someone to intercede and just intervenes. Isaiah 59:16 says, "He saw that there was no man, And wondered that there was no intercessor; Therefore His own arm brought salvation for Him; And His own righteousness, it sustained Him."

Now, the LORD may not always intervene in every situation like this because the protocol is that the intercession of the saints prompts divine intervention. However, beyond this, God rewards the intercessor for standing in the gap. Recognize that intercession is a labor of love, and our God is not unjust to forget such (according to Hebrews 6:10). Your prayers for communities, families, and individuals apart from yourself are in active demand by God (according to Ezekiel 22:30).

This is why today's theme scripture validates the truth that God will make happen for you what you make happen for others every time you intercede.

Spend time interceding today and make it a habit to do so every day.

Be blessed.

Faith-Filled Confession

I am an intercessor, actively seeking to consummate God's plan in communities, families, and individuals. I declare that I am God's prayer partner acting behind the scenes to engrave His purpose in the experiences of people for whom He would have me make intercessions. In Jesus' name. Amen

Prayer Point

Colossians 1:9-12 says," For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and long-suffering with joyfulness; Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light."

Jude 1:24-25 says, "Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen."

Pray for those facing challenges in their faith and for those whom Satan is gaming and stirring off the course of their calling in Christ through various temptations and trials.

Pray that their faith fails not and that they are strengthened by the Spirit in their inner man, triumphing by the Word sown in their hearts, and that their faith prevails in all circumstances.

Declare that they hold fast to their calling, living in and by the Word, irrespective of circumstances, that they may finish their course with joy, bringing glory to the Father in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
