THE ANTIDOTE TO THE LOVE OF THE WORLD

"For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin" (Hebrews 4:15)
The destiny of every Christian is to live out the life of Jesus. By this, I do not mean to be like Jesus, for in God's mind, we are like Jesus. 1 John 4:17 says, "Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world."
In other words, in this world, we are identical to Jesus on a very personal level. Now, the number one characteristic of living out Jesus is intercession and soul-winning. We are the go-between, God and humanity. "For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5). The man or woman, Christ Jesus, is you in your spheres of contact and influence.
Having defined our destiny in God, there is one thing, broken into three components, that is designed to compromise our destinies. The Bible says, "Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world"(1 John: 2: 15-16).
Today's theme scripture is proof-positive that we, too, can deal with this destiny compromiser. It says, "For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin" (Hebrews 4:15). We see this in the three-point temptation of Jesus (refer to Matthew 4:1-11). And yet the Bible says Jesus was without sin. How?
In essence, the love of the Father is the antidote to the love of the world. So, what, then, is this love of the Father? 1 John 5:3 says, " For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome." As a second witness, Jesus said, "He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him" (John 4:21).
This means that as we immerse ourselves more in the Word of God and keep it, every destiny compromiser in the world would automatically dissipate. Let this come to you today as an encouragement to reinvest in hearing and doing the Word of God, and may the peace of God encompass you today. Hallelujah!
Faith-Filled Confession
I yield myself continually to the love of the Father through diligent study and adherence to the Word of God, and by this, I am able to keep out every destiny compromiser. In Jesus' name. Amen
Prayer Point
Pray that all our partners will fulfill their God-given assignments, remain fervent and passionate about their work and calling, and be richly supplied with all they require: focused, fearless, bold, and inspired for the ever-increasing impact of the gospel.
Declare every opposition against them and their family ineffective. Declare that through their work, the kingdom of God expands exceedingly and is established in the hearts of men and that the name of our Blessed Lord is glorified. Amen.
