"Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled." — Luke 14:23
The invitation of the Gospel is not reserved for a select few. Jesus has commissioned us to go beyond the walls of the church and reach people where they are. There are people who may never walk through our doors unless someone first reaches out to them.
When Jesus said, “Compel them to come,”He was revealing the urgency of the harvest. We are not called to sit back and wait for people to find us. We are called to go after them with the love of Christ.
There are people in our neighborhoods who need hope. People in our workplaces who need encouragement. Families that need restoration. Young people searching for identity and purpose. People who are hurting, confused, lonely, and searching for answers.
To compel does not mean to force. It means to earnestly persuade, invite, encourage, and make the love of Christ known. Sometimes your invitation may be the very thing God uses to change someone's life.
Invite someone to church. Share your testimony. Pray for someone. Offer encouragement. Show kindness. Tell someone about Jesus. Don't underestimate a simple invitation. You may be inviting someone into an encounter with God.
Jesus said, “that my house may be filled.”
God desires His house to be filled with people from every background, generation, and walk of life. His heart is not merely for our seats to be occupied; His desire is for lives to be transformed. So let us stop waiting for the harvest to come to us. Let's go to the harvest.
Go into the highways. Go into the neighborhoods. Go into the workplaces. Go into the communities. Go wherever people are.
And compel them—not through pressure, but through love, truth, invitation, and the power of the Gospel. Child of God, someone's seat may be empty because they are waiting for your invitation. Let's fill God's house. Let's reach the lost. Let's gather the harvest.
There is room in the Father's house, and we have been sent to invite them in.
Bring someone to church this Sunday.
God bless you
Faith-Filled Confession
I am a laborer in God's harvest. I carry the Gospel with boldness, love, and compassion. I see people through the eyes of Jesus, and I am willing to reach them wherever they are. My words, invitation, testimony, and actions will point people to Christ. I refuse to be passive concerning the harvest. I am available, obedient, and ready to go. Through me, lives will be reached, souls will be saved, and God's house will be filled. In Jesus' mighty name, Amen.
