TAKE YOUR PLACE OF AUTHORITY

9/10/2025

"How long will the land mourn, and the herbs of every field wither? The beasts and birds are consumed, for the wickedness of those who dwell there, because they said, ‘He will not see our final end’" (Jeremiah 12:4).

Proverbs 29:2 declares: “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.” Authority here speaks beyond politics or government positions—it includes the believer’s God-given authority in Christ. When the righteous walk in this authority, people rejoice, because they hinder the operations of darkness and release God’s prosperity in the land.

Jesus said in Luke 10:19, “Listen carefully: I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy; and nothing will by any means harm you.” Notice that He spoke these words to disciples who had not yet received the indwelling Holy Spirit or eternal life. Yet even with delegated authority (exousia), they subdued demons and triumphed over Satan. How much more you—who not only have authority, but also eternal life and the Holy Ghost dwelling inside!

Our opening scripture shows what happens when the righteous fail to take their place—creation itself mourns. When believers abdicate their authority, the earth suffers: plants, animals, climates, oceans, and systems are thrown into disorder. But Scripture says, “Righteousness exalts a nation” (Proverbs 14:34). When the righteous rise, everything around them is lifted. That’s why Romans 8:19 says creation is groaning in eager expectation for the manifestation of the sons of God. The climate is waiting. Nations are waiting. Systems are waiting. You are the one authorized to rebuke storms, dismantle the works of Satan, and declare peace in your land.

Jesus understood this. He didn’t just preach the gospel to men—He preached to all of creation. He spoke to blind Bartimaeus and his eyes opened (Mark 10). He spoke to the fig tree and it withered (Mark 11:14). He read from Isaiah: “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor… to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, and to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord”(Luke 4:18-19). The gospel is God’s power to redeem not only men, but all of creation, while judging Satan and his works.

Child of God, you carry eternal life. You are anointed to be an answer to creation’s groaning. Refuse to allow darkness to run unchecked in your region. Open your mouth and declare life, liberty, and redemption. As you walk in your God-given authority, your world will rejoice.

Faith-Filled Confession

I am conscious of eternal life at work in me. By this life, I frustrate the operations of darkness and proclaim liberty to the oppressed. I declare peace, prosperity, and righteousness over my land. All creation rejoices because I have taken my place in Christ. Hallelujah!
