TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE PRESENCE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

“Nevertheless I tell you the truth: It is expedient for you that I go away; for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I go, I will send him unto you.” — John 16:7

Have you ever stopped to consider the incredible advantage we have as believers?The Holy Spirit lives in us!Do you realize that Jesus doesn’t speak directly to us today? You may be quick to quote Hebrews 1:1–2, which says, “God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spoke in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, hath in these last days spoken unto us by His Son, whom He hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also He made the worlds.” And you would be correct. However, have you ever asked yourself how Jesus speaks to us?

Jesus, in John 16:13, said, “But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on His own; He will speak only what He hears, and He will tell you what is yet to come.” In other words, the Holy Spirit is the One who conveys the Word of God to us. His voice is the voice of Jesus. If your spiritual eyes were opened to see the Person of the Holy Spirit today, you would be looking at Jesus.

Colossians 2:9 tells us that “…in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form.” That is to say, both the Father and the Holy Spirit manifest themselves in the Person of Jesus. You can now see why it is to the disadvantage of the Christian to shun the Holy Ghost or reject His ministry. Jesus, in John 16:7, said, “But I tell you the truth, it is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you.”

The Holy Spirit has been poured out on everyone (Joel 2:28), but my question to you is this: Have you received Him? And if you have, what have you allowed Him to do in your life? Can you say that He is your Helper, Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor, Counselor, Strengthener, and Standby? And is His presence evident in your life?

If someone were to sit with you over coffee for ten minutes, would they leave testifying of His presence with you?

Just as they said of Jesus, people should say of you, “No man can do these things that you do except by the Holy Ghost.” But for that to be your testimony, you must embrace and take advantage of the presence of the Holy Spirit, just as you embrace Jesus, because His presence is the manifesto of Jesus.

So, here is what I want you to do today: Talk to Him. It’s that simple. Ask Him anything like you would Alexa, Siri, or any other AI device or app. He is here for you. He is more accurate than AI. He is the presence of Jesus with you. 

Take advantage of His presence. Yield to Him. Walk with Him. Fellowship with Him. Listen to Him.

Faith-Filled Confession

Holy Spirit, I recognize Your presence and ministry in my life. I yield myself to Your leading. Manifest Yourself in me. Touch the world through me. Today, I declare that the grace of my Lord Jesus Christ is evident in me. His love flows through me, and I enjoy the fellowship of the Holy Spirit like never before, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
