STIRRING UP SPIRITUAL GIFTS

01/24/2024

"Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands" ( 2 Timothy 1:6).

From time to time, when you receive a spiritual gift, there is a tendency for it to wane if you do not mind the gift properly. Now, you may be wondering about receiving a spiritual gift, and I dare say that some received a spiritual gift at our Impartation Service on the second Sunday of this month. In Romans 1:11, Paul writes, "For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift, so that you may be established."

The impartation you received at that meeting was to enable you to discern deceptions and false accusations. The enemy intends to use different deceptive agencies and devices to lead many astray and the Lord, in His gracious wisdom, determined that we would not be deceived. Now, this ability to discern spirits should be in operation in your life, but it is a gift that can wane if left dormant.

This is why today's theme scripture says, "Therefore I remind you to stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands" ( 2 Timothy 1:6). The technology for stirring up the gifts imparted to you by your pastor starts with calling it to mind. I just reminded you of what you got at that meeting. But from time to time, if you notice the gift is waning in operation, you have got to call it to mind. 1 Timothy 4:14 says, "Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the eldership." In other words, take advantage of it in matters where it is required. Maybe a person recently became your acquaintance or entered your social circle, and you sense an uneasiness in your heart; that's something to which you need to pay attention.

The next thing you need to do after you have called the gift to mind is pray in tongues concerning the specific gift. Now, if for some reason, you haven't been discerning deception but later discovered something to be deceptive, you need to spend time stirring up the gift of discernment that you received during the time of impartation. Now, this technology works for any gift you have ever received or operated in. Recall it and then speak in tongues to saturation.

This year, I implore you to take advantage of the instructions of the Spirit that come to you.

Have a blessed day!

Faith-Filled Confession

I walk circumspectly this year as a wise person, redeeming the time. And as I recall every dormant gift I have received, I stir it up into a fiery furnace in the spirit. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Pray Colossians 1:9-11

"For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience,"
