STAY HUNGRY FOR GOD

"Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled." — Matthew 5:6

Someone once asked me,"Pastor, how do I stay hungry for God?"

My answer was simple: Feed, feed, and keep feeding your hunger with the Word of God.

It may sound paradoxical, but the more you feed on God's Word, the hungrier you become. The deeper you study the Scriptures, the more you realize how infinite God is and how much more there is to know about Him. That realization doesn't discourage you—it ignites a greater desire to pursue Him.

Spiritual hunger is like a fire. Fire naturally dies out unless it is continually fed with the right fuel. In the same way, your passion for God must be intentionally nourished.

Feed your hunger with the Word of God. Strengthen it through prayer. Protect it through obedience. Sustain it through worship.

If you neglect these, your spiritual fire will gradually diminish. But when you continually feed your spirit, your hunger for God will only increase.

The truth is, God never fills the self-sufficient; He fills the hungry.

Jesus said, "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled." Notice that being filled is not merely a gift—it is the result of a heart that longs for God. Hunger precedes fullness.

Throughout Scripture, those who experienced the greatest manifestations of God's power were men and women who refused to become spiritually satisfied.

Moses prayed, "Show me Your glory."

David cried, "As the deer pants for the water brooks, so pants my soul for You, O God."

Paul, after decades of walking with Christ, still declared, "That I may know Him."

They had already encountered God, yet they longed for more. They understood that there is always more of God to discover.

Spiritual hunger is not an emotion, nor is it measured by attending countless conferences, church services, or collecting biblical knowledge. It is a relentless pursuit of intimacy with God. It is the desire to know Christ more deeply, love Him more passionately, and obey Him more completely.

Don't allow yesterday's victories to become today's complacency. The fact that God used you yesterday does not mean you no longer need Him today. Every sunrise is a fresh invitation to seek His face, meditate on His Word, and depend upon His Spirit.

Child of God, never lose your appetite for His presence. Let your greatest pursuit be to know Him—not merely to receive from Him.

Seek His heart before you seek His hand.

Stay hungry for God, and He will fill you with Himself.

Faith-Filled Confession

I hunger and thirst for God above all else. My heart longs for His presence, and my soul delights in His Word. I refuse spiritual complacency and choose to pursue Jesus with passion and perseverance. The Holy Spirit stirs within me a deeper love for God, a greater desire for holiness, and an unwavering commitment to His will. I am continually filled with His presence, transformed by His Word, and empowered for His purpose. Every day my hunger for God increases, and my life reveals His glory. In Jesus' mighty name, Amen.
