STAY FOCUSED ON WHAT GOD IS DOING

3/21/2025

"I will be glad and rejoice in you; I will sing the praises of your name, O Most High" (Psalm 9:2).

The biggest reason for to hopelessness that we see is distraction. Distraction has become Satan's weapon of choice to abort the destinies of millions of God’s people around the world. Especially the distractions that come from comparing one's self with others. For some, others are to blame for their predicament.

Jesus was never one to complain or blame others for the challenges that He faced. Unlike John the Baptist, who at one point blamed Jesus for not coming to his rescue while he was in jail.  John sent his disciples to ask Jesus in Matthew 11:13, "Are you the one who is to come, or should we expect someone else?” In other words, John was saying to Jesus, “Why are you not doing something about my situation?” People can complain all they want and blame others for why they are where they are, but at the end of the day, nobody but you is responsible for your situation; not even God can be blamed. Jesus’ response to John the Baptist made it clear that He was not responsible for John’s predicament. Because of everyone born of a woman until this time, John the Baptist was considered to be the greatest. He carried something that no one before him ever carried and so if he wanted to get out of that jail, he had the power to do so. He had what was necessary to change his situation.

Child of God, you have not been called by people; so stop looking to for their validation. 1 Thessalonians 5:24 says, “God will make this happen, for He who calls you is faithful.” I understand that it is exciting to see friends and relatives offer their support. However, it doesn’t always work that way, especially in the early stages of your assignment. So I caution you not to bank on it. If you receive support, then praise God! Appreciate and celebrate those who have come on board to support you. However, if you don’t get it, you ought to still appreciate and celebrate with love those that have shunned you and press on with praises to God. But you cannot allow the adversary to use the situation to destroy your relationship with them.

Regardless of who is on board or not on board, your focus must be on God alone. Otherwise, the enemy will weaponize the situation and use it to derail you from God’s plan for your life and how many times have we seen Satan weaponize a situation for the purpose of aborting a destiny? Far too many times! So be smart. Also, remember that there is a time for everything because sometimes, God Himself prevents people from getting on board with you and later, brings the same people on board to work with you. Still, your focus should not be on the people but on God.

In all, you must walk in love while you develop your craft.  Jesus is our example. When He was rejected by those who should have been His biggest fans, He didn’t get bitter or hurl insults on them. On the contrary, the Bible says that He was amazed at their unbelief, and as a result, He went around teaching from village to village.

Today, I want to encourage you to stay focused on what God is doing. Be thankful and praise Him in every situation. He will work all things out for your good.

You are blessed.
