"I beseech you, therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service" (Romans 12:1)
There was a song we sang as young Christians that says, "I’m standing on the Word of God, the Word of God is power. I’m standing on the Word of God, the Word of God is power.” Very beautiful and powerful song! But I noticed that after singing that song, many went on to make confessions like, “My life is full ups and downs.” If you say you are standing on the Word of God and you believe that you are who God says that you are, how then is your life full of ups and downs? If God didn't say that your life was full of ups and downs, why then do you make such a confession? Jesus said in Matthew 15:8, “These people honor Me with their lips, but their hearts are far from Me.” In other words, they have chosen not to stand by God's Word. If God is who we say that He is, why then do we not stand by what He says?
Romans 12:1 says, “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God--this is your true and proper worship.” True and proper worship in the eyes of God is standing by His Word. In this scripture, He is saying, stand by His Word that says your body is a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God and a living sacrifice is that sacrifice that is void of sickness and disease. Anything short of that is deemed to be a dead sacrifice. Leviticus 22:22 says, “You are not to present any animal to the Lord that is blind, injured, or maimed, or anything with a running sore, festering rash, or scab; you must not put any of these on the altar as an offering made by fire to the Lord." So if God says that you are a living sacrifice, it means that divine health is your default.
So stand by it because it’s eternally settled. Your prosperity is eternally settled, STAND BY IT! Your divine health is eternally settled, STAND BY IT! Your peace is eternally settled, STAND BY IT! Stand by it even when it hurts and doesn't make sense. Stand by it still because what you feel, see, and hear will not change what God says. At the end of the day, the Word of God stands forever. So stand by it today. Let nothing sway you away from the reality of what God has said, stand by it still. Praise God!
Someone may ask, "How do I stand by it?" You do so with your confessions and actions. Someone else may say, "If the Word is true as you have presented it, why isn't my situation changing?" Child of God, anything that contradicts the Word of God is a lie. That situation that you are referring to has an end and that end is defeat. God has made you a victor over them all. So regardless of whether or not things line up physically with what God has said, STILL STAND BY THE WORD! Keep saying the same thing! Praise God!
Faith Filled Confession:
The Word of God never fails. I am committed to speaking as God has said. He calls me blessed, healed, strong, wise, favored, rich and fruitful and I call myself the same. I choose to see my life through no other lens but the lens of God’s Word.
Pray Point
Jude 1:24-25 says, “Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.
1. Pray for those facing challenges in their faith, and for those whom Satan is stirring off the course of their calling in Christ through various temptations and trials.
2. Pray that their faith fail not, that they be strengthened by the Spirit in their inner man, triumphing by the Word sown in their hearts, and their faith prevails in all circumstances.
3. Declare that they hold fast to their calling, living in and by the Word, irrespective of circumstances, that they may finish their course with joy, bringing glory to the Father in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen
