SHOW ME THE LOVE

8/30/2026

"Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen."1 John 4:20

It is easy to say,“I love God,”because we cannot physically see Him. But Scripture gives us a practical test of that love: how we treat the people we can see.

You cannot separate your love for God from your love for people.

If you say you love God but continually hold hatred, bitterness, resentment, or unforgiveness toward His people, something is wrong.

The person who irritates you, offended you and whose attitude you don't like is still someone Jesus died for. Your feelings may be real, but they cannot become the standard for how you treat people. Christ is the standard.

Jesus didn't tell us to love only the people who are easy to love. He commanded us to love one another as He has loved us. So ask yourself today: Can people see my love for God through the way I treat them?

Love is not merely a feeling. Love is demonstrated. Because if we truly love the God we cannot see, that love should be visible in how we treat the people we can see.

God bless you

Faith-Filled Confession

I love God, and His love is expressed through me. I choose to love people as Christ loves them. I refuse bitterness, hatred, resentment, and unforgiveness. I see people through the eyes of Jesus and treat them with grace, patience, honor, and compassion. My love for the unseen God is made visible through the way I love those around me. In Jesus' mighty name, Amen.
