SEEDS AND HARVESTS

"Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness…” (2 Corinthians 9:10)

God’s Kingdom operates two seasons: seed time and harvest. Genesis 8:22 says, “While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer, and day and night shall not cease.” It’s interesting to note that every time you experience an increase, the Lord is either giving you seeds or harvests. 

The thing is that so many believers cannot tell the difference between their seeds and harvests. They end up short-circuiting the power of God to help them live like gods on earth. 

As an aside, in Psalm 82:6-7, the Lord makes an observation and not a recommendation. He says, “I said, “You are gods, and all of you are children of the Most High. But you shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.” Notice, that there are three classes of beings on the earth that often get mixed up as the same. There are gods (children of the Most High), men (regular people), and princes (earthly royalty).

Distinguishing the three has been difficult because while men and princes have followed their systems of living, the gods have also imbibed the systems of men and princes. And the systems of these two come to nothing. 1 Corinthians 2:26 says, “However, we speak wisdom among those who are mature, yet not the wisdom of this age, nor of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing.”

Child of God, our system operates by sowing seeds and taking harvests. And if you have not sown seed how can you expect a harvest? In essence, just as a baby learns to walk and talk, you must learn to distinguish, bread from seed. For example, you may get some free time. Maybe an appointment was postponed or canceled; that’s not a harvest, that’s a seed. The question is: what are you going to do with it? Or you may receive an unanticipated check in the mail. What are you going to do with it? Men and princes may immediately spend or invest the check but not you! You go to the Lord with the check and inquire what He would have you do with it.

This year, pay attention to the two things God will send your way, seeds and harvests. And as you become proficient with handling both of them by the Holy Spirit, the fruits of your righteousness will spread. It’s your year for God-kind results and if you believe it, say, Amen.

Faith-Filled Confession

I discern seeds from bread by the tutelage of the Holy Spirit. I know when to sow and when to reap a harvest so that the fruit of my righteousness extends beyond the comprehension of mortals. Hallelujah! 

Prayer Points

• Pray against sudden or accidental death. 

• Cancel every negative claim against your destiny and interests. 

• Pray for those who are pregnant or who will become pregnant that their pregnancy will be without complications and that the delivery will be peaceful. Pray for the health of mother and child. Declare that they are protected from mistreatment or wrong prescriptions by medical personnel.
