SAY YES TO THE HOLY GHOST

“‘Come,’ He said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus.” — Matthew 14:29

As a child of God, you must live with a predetermined YES in your spirit for the Holy Spirit. Before God speaks, your answer should already be yes. When you sense His prompting, don’t spend too much time analyzing it, negotiating with it, or trying to figure out how everything will work out. Leap at once!

Every divine prompting is an invitation into something greater.

God’s dealings with you are not designed to limit you; they are designed to increase you. His instructions, corrections, and promptings are invitations into greater fruitfulness and greater manifestations of His life through you.

Even when He calls you to pray, study the Word, forgive someone, give, serve, love, or step out in faith, there is something supernatural on the other side of your obedience.

Look at Peter in Matthew 14.

The disciples were in a boat in the middle of the sea when a storm arose. Then, in the middle of the storm, they saw Jesus walking on the water. They were terrified and cried out, “It is a ghost!”

Imagine what was happening in their minds. They were already dealing with a storm they could not control, and now they saw what appeared to be a supernatural being walking toward them on the water.

Then Jesus spoke:

“Take courage! It is I. Fear not.”

Peter recognized the voice of Jesus and responded differently from everyone else.

He said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.”

Peter wasn’t asking Jesus to bring him back to safety. He was asking Jesus for permission to step into the supernatural.

And Jesus simply said one word: “Come.” That word changed everything.

Peter had a choice. He could remain in the boat where it was familiar, predictable, and relatively safe, or he could respond to the invitation of Jesus.

Peter chose to come.

The Bible says, “Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus.”

Think about it: Peter did something that had never been done before. He stepped out of the natural and into the supernatural because Jesus invited him.

The miracle began with a YES.

Peter’s experience teaches us something powerful: sometimes the greatest miracle in your life is on the other side of your willingness to obey an instruction that does not make sense to your natural mind.

There will always be voices that tell you why you shouldn’t.

There will always be people who will remind you of the risks, the limitations, your past experiences, your responsibilities, and what has never been done before.

But when Jesus says “Come,” the only response that matters is YES!

When He says forgive—YES!

When He says give—YES!

When He says serve—YES!

When He says pray—YES!

When He says step out—YES!

When He says love—YES!

When He says trust Me—YES!

You may not understand everything He is doing, but you don’t need to understand everything to obey.

Peter didn’t know how water would hold him up. He only knew that Jesus said, “Come.”

And that was enough.

Saint, stop waiting until you have everything figured out before you obey God. Faith does not require you to know every detail. Faith requires you to trust the One who called you.

Your obedience can become the doorway to an experience with God that you could never have experienced while sitting in the boat.

The boat represents what is familiar. The water represents what is supernatural. Jesus represents the One who makes the impossible possible.

So, when the Holy Ghost speaks to your spirit, don’t hesitate.  Don’t allow fear to silence your faith. Don’t allow human reasoning to cancel a divine instruction. Don’t allow the opinions of others to keep you in the boat.

Say YES!

There is something greater on the other side of your obedience. There is a testimony on the other side of your faith. There is a supernatural experience on the other side of your YES.

So when Jesus says, “Come,” step out of the boat.

Take the leap of faith, and let God write the story.

FAITH-FILLED CONFESSION

I have a ready YES in my spirit. I respond to the voice and promptings of the Holy Ghost with faith and obedience. I refuse to be controlled by fear, human reasoning, or limitations. I step out of the familiar and into the supernatural. I trust God completely, and I obey His Word without hesitation. My obedience opens the door to greater manifestations of God’s life, power, and glory through me. I say YES to God! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
